And John Dalli is still hiding in Brussels, pretending to be ill and waiting for his mate Joseph to become PM

He probably thinks it will then be safe for him to return to Malta without being prosecuted. And you know what, he might be right.

He will return when Prof. Zammit is Health Minister and Mater Dei will have a much better Dept. to deal with high blood pressure. We can’t all afford to pay for healthcare in Brussels, can we?

It has been reported that he has a medical certificate which probited him from travelling until the end of February.

Will the Commissioner of Police please issue an international arrest warrant now?

What happens in a country when the police are found lacking, insufficiently motivated, or over-indulgent in leniency towards what should not be happening?

This is shameful. Surely the police should be doing something about this.

There has always been corruption and as long as people exist there will always be. The difference we have seen in these past few years is that people have actually been held accountable. Be it judges, magistrates, well connected businessmen, whoever. The judgements may not have been as severe as we may have liked them to be and perhaps the legislator needs to up the ante here. However, at least they have been taken to task. In the past, not only was it rife but it was institutionalised.

Therefore, John Dalli must not be permitted to get away with it. He must be held accountable and if he is guilty, he must bear the consequences.
