Joseph Muscat – the post tortoise/turtle (a note while watching press conference live on NET)
I love this expression: a post tortoise, or in American English, a post turtle. It’s used as a metaphor for some politicians.
So you’re driving down a country road (not in Malta, obviously, where they don’t exist in the wild) and you see a tortoise or terrapin stuck up on a post.
You know he didn’t get up there by himself. He doesn’t belong up there. He doesn’t know what to do while he’s up there. He’s elevated beyond his ability to function.
And you just wonder what kind of dumb or malicious idiot put him up there to begin with.

Meanwhile I am listening to Tonio Fenech live on NET (mychoice.pn). It’s unbelievable, isn’t it – at every press conference all you hear is the sound of that ghastly peasant from Super One, Ramona Attard, barracking and heckling just off mike.
Is this the Labour Party’s way of advertising how middle class, liberal and progressive its people are? Nobody middle class would behave with such vulgarity and poor manners.

Genius. That must explain his waddle when he’s on solid ground.

It’s so rude when she insists on an answer only to bury her head in that blessed mobile phone. She was chewing gum today.
No wonder these people look at Labour as some form of career prospect.
I bet Manuel Mallia wishes he were a tortoise. He’d still be a reptile but he could also lay Fabergé eggs.
