Franco Debono used to send hundreds of text messages to the Prime Minister, moaning that he should be given a Cabinet post.

He used to phone the Prime Minister whenever he felt the need to talk to him irrespective whether the time was appropriate.

One time I remember he phoned the Office of the Prime Minister and insisted on being put through to Dr Gonzi even though he knew he was in a meeting with US Foreign Secretary Hillary Clinton.

Another time he turned up at the Office of the Prime Minister demanding to speak to him, wearing a pair of shorts, when the Prime Minister was in a meeting with Libyan Prime Minister Jabril.

And then there was the famous episode when, ahemm, he accidentally turned up late at night (or was it very early in the morning?) in one of Valletta’s prime restaurants where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spending some time together in private and, double ahemm, they insisted that they should take a picture with him.

Once he said he wouln’t swap his political beliefs, but then he found it very convenient to do so.

His phone must have been tampered with, as he claims. Remember during Bondi+ when he claimed that he had switched it off and then it still rang? Miskin

He was weak with him and he suffered. Someone like Franco needed someone who was able to put him in his place.

Yes, il-Ginger, you’re right and Dr Gonzi should have called an early election and let Joseph Muscat negotiate the EU budget for Malta.
