We need some more details about the Social Policy Minister’s ‘unpaid representative’ at St Vincent de Paule Hospital
The Social Policy Minister (Marie Louise Coleiro Preca) told us that Anthony Agius Decelis will not be paid, but he will be allowed to keep his private practice.
I asked what private practice this might possibly be, given that his election campaign bio described him as a paramedic working in the state health care sector.
It turns out he is an ECG technician working at Mater Dei Hospital, so he is on the state payroll already.
Nothing so far about his private practice, and what it might be.
I wondered out loud about his hospital job – has he resigned so as to be able to do the unpaid chore of being Mrs Coleiro Preca rep at the state home for the elderly?
But the latest information to emerge is that he has been seconded from Mater Dei Hospital to St Vincent de Paule Home. In other words, he IS getting paid. He’s still on the public sector payroll, and still taking the same salary.

The Maltese definition of democracy: Gvern tal-haxxejja, ghall-haxxejja.
Please excuse the profanity, but there really is no other way to put it.
Min hexa, mexa. U min ma hexiex, inhexa.
Meanwhile, in the real world, news is circulating that Slovenia is next to feel the economic crunch. How will this incompetent lot respond? maybe by engaging their mistresses on a voluntary basis.
This government sounds like a pyramid scheme.
Jozef that is precisely what I saw in Joseph Muscat snake-oil artist par excellence.
To highlight again: he went after this path on direct instructions from Mintoff, and this in his own words, whatever they’re worth.

Latest: Gino Cauchi has also been given a slot at OPM. So who’s paying Labour’s CEO’s salary? Are we?
We paid the previous CEO’s salary. He was registered as the Leader of the Opposition’s driver, a role funded by the taxpayer.
Oh, I’m relieved. No change in policy then. God bless our government, God bless Labour, and God bless our brave little republic. Truly a nation of chosen people.
In 1987, the PN did not get a single vote from that hospital. The elderly were threatened by the nurses at the time – it looks like Decelis is there to ensure that the situation returns to what is labelled as the norm by the MLP.
When some one says the word ‘free’, I look at the fine print.
A huge cabinet, far and away excessive to requirement for this population of Local Council proportions by UK standards, plus all of these volunteers and representatives.
What exactly is Joey going to be doing once he settles down to work (he hasn’t yet, if anyone hadn’t noticed).
Figurehead Prime Minister? PM in name only? Figurehead Ministers too?
Neil, ancient mariners employed figureheads on the prow of their ships, made of laminated wood. Not only is this guy made of wood, but he sits at the head of a ship that has already sprung leaks. Sinking is inevitable.
I’ve noticed Neil. If he were employed in the private industry, he would be 16.66% into his probation and it would not be looking good.
His private practice is filling in application forms for residence status at St Vincent de Paule Home.
No problems with conflict of interest based on ethical grounds. Joseph promised to revise the code of ethics.
One guess which way.
The postgraduate certification supposedly qualifies him to fill a form for senior citizens to retire at an old people’s home.
It may well be that his “private practice” includes working in the Cath lab at a private hospital.
Meanwhile, Daphne, can you give us your recipe for the Easter figolla so that we will compare it to that of Marie Louise Coleiro Preca?
Biex ghabbejna. Discussing the amount of sugar used in figolli during press conferences.
Malta under this rubbish Labour government is going to be the most corrupt state in Europe.
