Albert Gauci Cunningham: an iced bun and a job at the General Workers Union (how sweet of Ronnie – jaf jaghzilhom, ukoll)
Albert Gauci Cunningham, that odd and unpleasant man who spent years writing chaotic comments in mixed letters with multiple punctuation marks, on timesofmalta’s comments-board, first in favour of the PN and then in favour of ‘Joseph’, and who taught English as a foreign language (unbelievably), has been given a job at the General Workers Union.
He’s, wait for it, writing for L-Orizzont. This morning’s front-page report is his:
Kulħadd tellief fil-ġbir tal-iskart
minn ALBERT GAUCI CUNNINGHAM
His by-line’s not on the print edition, but it’s on line.
And the government paid him tribute by making him a member of the Kummissjoni Ghall-Familja (Family Commission) – heaven knows why, because if there is ever a man who knows little or nothing about family life and seems totally incapable of it, he is it. I don’t mean because he’s gay – as if. I mean that going by his words, way of communicating, and behaviour, this person is a Class A Egoist, and people like that are incapable of forming lasting relationships, still less families. Nor are they interested in doing so, because it’s way too much hassle and gets in the way of selfishness.
In any case, this is yet another of ‘Joseph’s’ billboard ‘personalities’ – absolute nonentities who snatched at their chance to have their face plastered all over Malta, but who are, with just a couple of exceptions (who are not admirable, all the same), consummate failures and losers.
Think about it. Exactly who were and are those people? Exactly.
My reaction on seeing Albert Gauci Cunningham’s ‘I’m voting Labour’ promo in the newspapers was “Who gives a stuff? Who is he, that I should care? If this weirdo is voting Labour, then it’s so obviously the wrong voting choice.” But then, Gauci Cunningham’s weird comments had been leaping out at me on the internet for some years beforehand. I didn’t rank him as somebody whose judgement I should respect, or whose choices I should admire.
And nobody out there bothered to say, in the electoral frenzy, “Who the f**k is Albert Gauci Wotsit?”

Kif dejquni dawn in-nies b’dawk in-nuccalijiet ‘interessanti’.
Malta’s flooded with loads of fakes. And I don’t mean the spectacles.
Hey, xi trid tghid biha? I have more nuccalijiet than Elton John, and they’re all very interesting. You should see it from my nuccali to understand.
Imnalla m’ghandiex nuccali Chiara.
It seems like people did not care then, and they do not care now. With all these dubious appointments, Joseph Muscat is treating the electorate as if we are all stupid, and we might as well be.
We have become so complacent that no one seems to care that he is paying himself for his car, giving his wife a salary, giving his inner circle civil service jobs with whopping pay rises..with our money, and appointing chairmen everywhere and more….with our money.
Meanwhile he is trying to convince the EU that the increase in debt is due to the previous administration while he continues with his spending spree. But who cares – if he screws the country up, it’s not his money. He and all those he’s appointed will still get paid.
This is three months into the job, so imagine what it’s going to be like by the time the five years are up.
The majority of the population is sitting quietly trying to justify their choice, because it is harder to accept that you have made a mistake and speak up than find some excuse to prove you made the right choice.
Is this the Gauci Cunningham effect?
“The union said that the open market will be better organised and more aesthetically pleasing as it will be set up in a professional manner, so as to blend well with the Renzo Piano project.” (Tha Malta Independent)
I am 100% sure that there was not even one floating voter who voted PL because of this jerk. I would even add that because of him they must have voted PN or AD.
Albert Gauci Wotsit looks a lot like Mr. Potatohead.
The progressive and oh-so-suave Albert Gauci Cunningham:
