Jason and Joseph: it will all end in tears at bedtime

Back in September 2009, coming on for four years now, Malta Today reported: ‘Muscat to take firm stand against Micallef’. The story makes even more interesting reading now, what with all this hindsight.
Almost four years on, Muscat has lost that goatee beard and most of his hair, piled on the pounds despite going to the Spinach gym every day and eating fruit for lunch, and got into government.
But he still hasn’t wrenched off this particular albatross, who is behaving with all the single-minded fixation and defiance of an angry ex spouse.

Jason has got Joseph by the balls and is not going to let go any time soon.
I wonder why Muscat is such a loser in this tug of war. The more hetries to run, the more Jason’s grip on his.. well never mind.
I wonder what happened. Malta being so small, how come no one came forward with the juicy story.
The phrase ‘handbags at dawn’ was just made for this situation and the protagonists’ characters.
This is how I explain my view of the typical Maltese attitude, of which Micallef is a fine example:
They want all of the power but none of the responsibility.
“If you are professional in your attitude, there should never be any conflict of interest.”
Jason Micallef on his role as chairman of V.18 and chairman of Super One, as reported by The Times.
He forgot to add that you have to be Labour for this to be applicable.
‘If’ being the key word.
Din l-istess bhal ta Mintoff u Lorry Sant.Jason jaf certu affarijiet fuq Joseph u qed jheddu li jikxef kollox.
The ‘elephant in the room’ must be addressed, and fast. Be it in an office at Castille or else around the dining room table.
A PM being held by the short & curlies like this can have disastrous effects on a nation of our size, as has been seen in the not TOO distant past.
The truth will surface sooner or later…
Kullhadd inqela f’zejtu.
To quote Tesla: ‘to suppress a truth is to give it strength beyond endurance’.
I’m sure he has taken a firm stand already. He’s come down very hard on him on numerous occasions.
Steady yourselves for the great debate: Son of Irkotta.
Is it rikatt or irkatt?
