Ghadni kif hadt lis-subien tieghi ghat-training tal-football, fejn is-soltu nara lil Stefan Buontempo bil-karozza tieghu u xi habib, iwassal lit-tfal tieghu hemm.
Il-karozza li kont narah fiha qabel l-ahhar elezzjoni, u li nassumi kienet tieghu personali, kienet tat-tip 4×4.
Illum fid-9.15, 26 ta’ Mejju 2013, xahar u nofs wara r-rebha Laburista, nara lil Buontempo misjuq minn xufier tal-gvern, go karozza number-plate tal-gvern, Volvo gdida fjamanti, iwassal lit-tfal tieghu waqt li x-xufier jistennieh fil-karozza tal-gvern li ghandha tintuza ghax-xoghol ministerjali tieghu.
X’gharukaza ta’ nies, Madonna – qas jisthi iwassal lit-tfal tieghu fil-karozza gdida li tawh kif hadu over il-Labour. Din il-karozza mhallsa mit-taxxi taghna, misjuqa minn xufier imhallas mit-taxxi taghna, flus il-poplu li qed jintuzaw minn nies fil-ministeri li qed juzaw flus il-poplu ghalihom.
Stefan Buontempo, isthi jekk taf. Ma tisthix tuza dak li tawk il-Labour ghall-hin ta’ rekrejazzjoni tieghek u tal-familja tieghek u dan kollu minn fuq dar il-poplu Malti?
Gergru, ja poplu Malti injurant – Eur500 fil-gimgha rajtu fi zmien Gonzi? Ghax ma tarawx dawn il-hnizrijiet li qed isiru u ghadhom qas biss ghaddew tlett xhur mill-gvern li vvutajtu?
Malta tieghek? Malta taghhom, u kif.
Nistma li biex is-Sur Buontempo ikollu driver ghas-Sibt u l-Hadd, ghall-hin liberu tas-Sur Stefan Buontempo, karozza inkluza, tigi tqum lill-pajjiz madwar Eur300 – weekend biss ghax dan trid qis li x-xufier dahhlu overtime. Mela ix-xufier ghan-nies fil-ministeri huma hemm biex jaqdu lil tal-familja fis-Sibtijiet u l-Hdud?
Ghalhekk riedu jiehdu over, biex jieklu u jithanzru huma.

Punt tajjeb. Ftit ilu, Daphne kellha storja fuq ministru li wassal lit-tifel l-iskola qabel ma’ dahal l-ufficcju.
Sincerament, dik ma deqjitnix u right ftit ‘over the top’ kif jghidu. Ghax dan wara kollox, jekk irridu ninkoragixxu l-bilanc familja/xoghol, tajjeb li Ministru jaghti ezempju.
Izda li f’weekend tmur bil-karozza ministerjali, huwa sempliciment inkredibbli – ghalkemm juri wkoll x’ghatx ghall-fama u poter.
Ghax nghiduha kif inhi, il-weekend forsi l-unika ftit hin li mal-familja jqatta’ ftit hin, f’ambjent iktar rilassat..mhux bl-attenzjoni li anke semplici karozza ggib maghha

And, for a laugh (or should that be “tal-biki”?) http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2013/03/parliamentary-secretary-for-research-innovation-youth-sport-dr-stefan-buontempo-hes-literally-a-fking-wker/
‘Iffangar’ is too adequate. Labourites are engorging themselves on whatever they think they’re owed, while the rest of us are made to look on and (I assume) expected to not be disgusted.
‘Ara vera ħnieżer u bhejjem’ (with apologies to the animal world)
A horde of scroungers. There is a Maltese word for them ‘qabda hniezer’.
Manq juzaw il-karozza personali taghhom, mela le. U kollox minn fuq dar it-taxpayer Malti. Ghax issa Malta Taghhom l-koll.
Can they just defy every one and go on making use of official cars, petrol, staff, etc. etc. without any control whatsoever. Are there no ethics they should be made to follow ? Or is that the Maltese taxpayers continues to foot their bills ?
But why is anyone surprised?
Joseph Muscat takes his daughter to Melita for football every Saturday morning, complete with driver, security and semi official car – that famous Alfa.
Apparently a couple of weeks ago there was a match with the visiting team being Qormi FC U13 who were all amazed at the incredible close up view of their leader, though I suspect it was also due to the fact that they realised they were as tall as him, that they insisted on a group photo and broke out in a spontaneous chant of ‘Jowseff Jowseff’ that quickly brought on such dirty looks from most of the other parents, that he had sense enough to shoosh them albeit with a big grin on his face.
Unbelievable!
Edward and Elena Zammit Lewis do their supermarket shopping at Scotts inAttard using their official car+driver.
Sa fejn naf jien il-karozza tal-gvern tista’ tintuza kif trid. Meta jtuk karozza tax-xoghol bil-petrol inkluz ma jghidulekx kif tonfqu, kienet tigri miz-zewg partiti.
A couple of weeks ago I came across a young guy driving alone around Marsa in a Honda Accord bearing the number plate GM 24. But I should not worry that the person I saw is not an official driver within the secretariat of some parliamentary secretary.
Ma nafx ghalfejn qed niehdu dawn l-affarijiet bi kbar.
Ma konniex nafu x’inhu gej. Min tafu ssaqsix ghalih!
Issa min ivvota Labour jiehu gost u jipaxxa jhallas it-taxxi ghal dawn in-nies bla qalb lejn pajjizhom.
Basta qedin fil-poter issa l-poplu irid joqoghd ghal dak kollu li jridu huma u ara minn ifettilu jiftah halqu ghax holl xagharek u ggib iz-zejt.
U oltre minn hekk jekk il-finanzi tal-pajjiz imorru lura dawn qatt m’hu se jbatu huma izda jintaxxaw aktar il-poplu.
Bli qed jaghmlu juruna kemm il=oajjiz kien sejjer lura finanzjarjament ghax sabu halqhom fix-xghir u bli gara s’issa min hu mohhu floku ga induna li gej dizastru fuqna.
Yes, the Volvo used by Stefan Buontempo – GM21 – is a spanking new one.
What I would really like to know is why he was supplied with a new car when he already had one for the previous 5 weeks or so (also bearing the plates GM21), and which looked in very good shape.
Not fancy enough to impress, perhaps? Impress Buotempo does, but in all the wrong ways, especially when collecting his elder son from outside St. Martin’s College in Swatar, when he’s generally “busy” talking shop on his mobile phone, with that lehen ta’ pastizz.
