I’m watching it .
Well done to all four!
My faith in human nature has just been restored.. Prosit Francis. Prosit Mario.
So Simon Busuttil is the new leader of the PN.
Best wishes to the new leader.
It’s a loss for the PN and, ultimately, for Malta.
Very pleased with the outcome. I really do hope that all do now rally behind Simon and unite in the common goal of building a strong Opposition to this vagabond Government.
Watched and greatly admired Mario De Marco’s decision to gracefully bow out once Simon obtained more than 50% of the votes.
Godfrey Grima was on Dissett tonight, discussing the election of the new PN leader and the PN’s electoral result.
Maybe we should not pay him too much attention – from what he usually says, he does not seem to enjoy it when we mention him here. But then I wonder why he was wearing fuschia-coloured socks – or was that his pyjamas?
Do they do it on purpose to draw our attention and then blame us for criticising them?
Then he practically hijacked the programme and hardly gave any opportunity to Michael Falzon (“ex PN”?) to express himself. Michael looked very exasperated about this.
The “veteran FT journalist” was banging on about the PN’s arrogance. Did he not realise that his attitude during the entire programme was one of sheer arrogance – I could see that Michael Falzon, besides looking exasperated, was also feeling intimidated.
I agree with you 100 % . He is really one annoying guy
What a relief to see some real gentlemen.
There was no vote rigging but transparency throughout unlike the elections held for the PL leaderships of both Alfred Sant and Joseph Muscat.
Proud to support PN. I will miss Dr. Lawrence Gonzi but pleased to have Dr. Simon Busuttil as his successor.
At least if we have a person unfit as prime minister, we have a decent leader of opposition.
While I always believed and said that Simon would be the best leader, I have to admit that I was impressed at Mario’s speech that he always respects the decision of the majority.
I am more than convinced that he will now rally behind Simon, as his late father rallied behind Eddie.
What a relief to watch these gentlemen. It promises a great future for P.N.
Well done to all but I really admired Dr. Mario De Marco. This event brings out the vast difference between the two parties.
Good luck, Simon.
Looking forward to a renewed and stronger PN.
And last but not least a wholehearted Thank you to Dr. Gonzi.
As a sign of unity and if Mario accepts, Simon should encourage and endorse Mario to run for Deputy.
[Daphne – De Marco has said already that he has no intention of doing so.]
There are various other ways how Dr. deMarco can be of great help to the PN. Simon has already said that he will be discussing with all three contenders for the leadership post.
I guarantee you that you have another twenty five years in opposition. Mario Demarco could have saved the Party but you are too short sighted.
Adolf
why do you say ‘another 25 years in opposition’? I thought that it was the LP that spend 25 years in opposition. Don’t you think your comment smells of arrogance already?
