Joseph Cuschieri is on the warpath

Joseph Cuschieri

Labour MEP Joe Cuschieri, the man who gave up his seat in the Maltese parliament so that Joseph Muscat could become Leader of the Opposition in 2008, is hopping mad and threatening war on Facebook (left click on the image to read it).

The reason is the prime minister’s appointment of Lou Bondi to the foundation which will organise and manage the celebration of “national festivities” like the 35th anniversary of Mintoff’s failure to persuade Britain to retain its military base in Malta, which led to economic disaster, the collapse into redundancy of the dockyard and its thousands of employees (which could not be admitted to), and the country’s virtual enslavement to Muammar Gaddafi.

This 35th anniversary has been put on the same footing as the 10th anniversary of Malta’s entry into the European Union and the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.

Cannot understand the problem of this MEP, whether it is the fact that he is opposing Lou Bondi’s appointment because he is of a different political opinion or whether the slogan used by PL in last general election of “Malta Taghna lkoll” was meant to only refer to the “PL people” and exclude all the others.

MEP Cuschieri (like thousands of voters) seems to be suggesting that the “Taghna lkoll” was clearly to exclude the AD/PN/non-PL. I understood it is an all-inclusive statement, even if one disagrees with PL policies.

there you go … my thoughts exactly

    • Joe Farrugia says:

No, the problem is, and he is right, that the “Taghna lkoll” was only meant to be an election slogan and to win them the election. It was not to be taken literally.

“Qatt ma bzajt u mhux se nibza issa” (Joseph Cuschieri II).

It takes some wisdom to to realize when discretion is the better part of valour.

  3. Bubu says:

Dear Joseph, it must have been the evil click (the real one this time).

  4. NOT one of the 36,000 says:

It’s ‘shamefull’ that Joseph Cuschieri never learnt to spell, in spite of being our EU representative.

It’s also ‘shamefull’ that he thinks he’s there to protect all Laburisti. You’re there to protect all of us. Did you really need that spelt out?

  5. canon says:

It looks as if Joseph Cuschieri had a clash with Joseph Muscat.

  6. A says:

His brother is probably the only one left at Super One.

Does Manuel Cuschieri still try to indoctrinate the masses or has the fact that his brother’s back was the first step in the Muscat’s rise to high society mellowed his stance?

[Daphne – Swingers! Clearly, the man has no idea what that means.]

  8. Yanika says:

His words seem to indicate that he’s there to protect only ‘Il-Laburisti’. So much for Malta taghna lkoll. No shame.

  9. Michael says:

Guess the “Taghna Lkoll” government will have their own version of Franco Debono earlier than when the PN Government did.

Cuschieri being the grandmaster in this front, it’s ironic how he has his ideals mixed up. Adios “Taghna Lkoll” because only Labourites are qualified.

This should be fun to watch. Testa wouldn’t need to organise dramas, he has a Hollywood-Class story happening right now!

    • 36,000 says:

      DNUB TAX XEWQA

      • Michael says:

        Dnub tax-xewqa?

No no no. I’m just predicting what will actually happen. We’ve seen this before after all haven’t we? That’s why I put the word “Guess” and not “I hope”

  10. Paul Bonnici says:

This fool started his rant in English, with a spelling mistake of course and he could not finish it off in English. A semi-literate MEP and an embarrassment to Malta in Europe.

  11. Paul Bonnici says:

The PN made a big mistake. They should have built a theatre not a parliament building, as with this lot in power, a theatre would have been more appropriate.

  12. Victor says:

What amazes me on reading the comments on Maltatoday is the interpretation of Taghna lkoll by the Labourites.

No wonder Malta is in the sorry state it is today.

  13. blue says:

Ah this is all the strategist’s work, divide and rule is his game and he is dividing by each day that passes. He will be the demise of this government. I look forward to seeing it happen.

  14. Catsrbest says:

In my opinion, the situation in their party looks bleak and volatile despite the massive win. I might be wrong, but I fear that tremors from the massive earthquake Joseph created might bring about an implosion in the PL.

  15. Dissident says:

A war in the PL will start sometime soon, a war which will belttle Franci Debono’s shenanigans. Just wait…

  16. JPS says:

Could it be that Joseph Cuschieri was annoyed at the Prime Minister because he initially asked John Attard Montalto to be the head of the Malta MEP delegation?
