What a relief: Lawrence Gonzi denies that he will be standing as an MEP candidate, and says that the information is false

I would not put it past certain people to invent such a story.
What a man. All Labour can think about is what they can gain from our country not what they can do for it. Despicable lot!
I had no doubt whatsoever that Dr. Gonzi would rise above such drivel.
Ma tarax!! (and this merits two exclamation marks a la Privitera).
I’m glad Lawrence Gonzi has denied the rumour. I don’t agree with Alfred Sant’s decision to contest the EP elections and neither did I agree with Eddie Fenech Adami’s decision to accept the presidency.
Those who retire from parliamentary politics, on both sides of the political divide, should gracefully make way for fresh blood and ideas.
What is wrong with Eddie Fenech Adami making it to the Presidency after his successful political career?
This as it should be for veteran politicians to be rewarded with such a prestigious post.
This happens in many countries which have a similar political system to ours.
“What is wrong” with anything? Let’s keep dumbing down this blasted country yay.
Anything to alienate the people from what the government is (not) doing.
I think Gonzi’s still a crowd-puller and a valid person for an MEP.
Robbie Williams is a crowd-puller. Would you have him as MEP?
For the love of god, let Lawrence Gonzi retire and let us hear no more of him.
As I stated in a previous comment under a previous post on this subject there hae been former heads of government and of state who are or have been MEPs.
[Daphne – Indeed. And very well-respected ones, too. Do go and play with somebody else, David. I find you exceedingly tiresome.]
Would still be a hundred times better than what is on offer on the other side.
