Air Malta should refuse to carry them, and if Air Malta doesn’t refuse, then the pilots should take a stand
Air Malta has accepted to play an active part in the violation of the human rights of 59 men by flying them to Libya tonight. This is reprehensible.
Businesses have an ethical obligation not to participate in or facilitate illegal activities.
And Air Malta also has to consider the views of its regular clients who do not approve of human rights violators.
If Air Malta’s directors do not take a stand against this, then the pilots should.
Those pilots should refuse to fly 59 men back to potential torture, death and abuse, in a situation where they have been forcibly and probably permanently separated from their wives and babies, who have been kept behind.
If you call yourselves men, or just plain decent, don’t do it.
Take a stand.

Moral issue aside (immigrant’s plight is paramount)… what about the very well being of the Airmalta crew?
Is there any guarantee that the Libyan airforce won’t “escort” the Airmalta plane away from Libyan airspace?

The liitle bastard’s plan for EU withdrawal is slowly falling into place.
Next quote? ‘The EU can’t push us around anymore. To hell with their courts.’
Remember his quote from a few weeks ago? ‘I know what I’m doing.’
The ECHR is not an EU institution.
Shame on Joseph Muscat, on all the people who voted ‘for a change’. How can you sleep easily at night?
quiet comfortably XD
Air Malta, their blood is on your hands.

Social cruelty comes in so many different forms. In December I as a Maltese citizen complained that where I live a central strip in a corner was not put back and so road traffic is faster noisier. No one cares that I cannot sleep, but the local authorities and NGOs are ready to Help immigrants attend MCAST freely, give them free accomodation and stipends, while no one lifts a finger to help me

Better still, send a message through their website.
The comments on timesofmalta.com are the same I hear at my place of work and hate to say but Maltese people are very racist irrespective of their political beliefs. I believe the pilots will not listen to you.
[Daphne – Racism IS a political belief.]
Herod is remembered for killing children , Joseph will be remembered for deporting fathers for execution or torture.
Shame on him and his cabinet.
But the government owns Air Malta now. Taghna Lkoll.
Of course don’t forget Air Malta Captain Kevin Whitehead, who said he was ‘proud to be racist’ a while back.

Everyone stands to be counted on this issue. The whole cabinet and all PL parliamentarians shoulder this responsibility.
I can’t imagine the chaos that could potentially arise in the confined space of an aircraft unless each passenger is handcuffed to two police or military officers.
I think this was the reason for planning two flights. The smallest Air Malta aircraft carries around 120 people. If it’s 59, that’s 30 on each aircraft, handcuffed, and escorted by either the AFM or police force.
Those flights are the equivalent of the notorious cattle-trucks.
Well done P.M. at last we seem to have a man who means what he says, running our country.
If the Air Malta Pilots refuse to do it, just fire them and get others to do the job..
Yes, and in all probability AirMalta planes will be boycotted by people of goodwill. Silvio, you are so f**kin’ stupid. I think Lostronzo would be more adapt.
I surely will no longer fly Air Malta.
They employ racist pilots or captains and then om top of everythng else they carry out human rights violation flights.
Silvio Low-porto do you mean shoot the pilots if they opt to take a stand against the prime minister’s decision. No maybe we’re not there yet.
