Be proud, Mr Prime Minister: you have Norman Lowell’s glowing admiration for “refusing to pick up the floating, black garbage”

Published: July 8, 2013 at 6:19pm
This is what a couple of Maltese liberals look like.

This is what a couple of Maltese liberals look like.

What price transgender marriage now, and all you fools who equated liberalism – an entire field of political philosophy – with the raw, bald, simplistic technicalities of a state-regulated union between people of the same gender?

Norman Lowell loves Joseph Muscat. Yes, the very same Normal Lowell who would string homosexuals up alongside journalists. What does that tell you?

Here he is, glowing with praise for the prime minister yesterday.

Listen to the PM speak.

What a relief, what a change from that Bicca ex-President tal-Azzjoni Kattolka.

What a difference to that political picayune, now leader of a bankrupt party: dak il Patrun tal-Berdin Xering.

We reiterate our stand and advise the PM: Avoid Veto as much as you possibly can.

Implement Push Back: refuse to pick up the floating, Black garbage when they next arrive.

When We, of Imperium Europa will be in Brussels in 2014 – we will give our PM strong support from there.

Malta will save both Europe and all Europids.

Norman Lowell, 7 July 2013

And again today:

That is how our People expect the Prime Minister to talk.

A firm stand that not one, single boat will be allowed to unload its Black garbage onto us.

And if Italy, or France or Sweden disagree – well, let them enjoy the “Burden”.

All this could have been nipped in the bud in 2005, after my Safi speech.

I had uncovered the Traitor’s Plan to flood and destroy Malta as quickly as possible.

We had traitors at the highest level: pushing for Burden Sharing knowing fully well it wouldn’t work.

Years of betrayal by a minion who now leads a bankrupt party.

Incredible! – A man who wasted the political tempo of our Country for 9 whole years – and instead of booting him in the dustbin of political history: they elect him as leader!

Unless Muscat formally condemns this hate language and takes action under the hate crimes law brought in last year, we shall take it that Joseph Muscat’s definition of push back is that given by Mr. Norman Lowell.

  2. Liberal says:

    Vote Joseph, get Norman.

  3. joe says:

The prime minister needs to distance himself from Norman Lowell.

    • anthony says:

The PM does not have to distance himself from Lowell.

The two scoundrels are basically in agreement on the subject of immigration.

  4. Rumplestiltskin says:

Let’s see macho Joseph try and disassociate himself from this venomous statement.

  5. Jozef says:

It will be interesting to watch Lowell and Muscat go for the same votes.

Unless there’s an agreement already. Not explicitly put up on Facebook of course.

  6. Natalie says:

Joseph Muscat has the backing of a criminal.

    Manuel Mallia hugs criminals.

  7. Volley says:

I’m speechless to say the least. Why all this hatred? Is this the ‘Malta taghna lkoll’ attitude JM strongly advocated before the general election? I’m utterly disgusted!

  8. Watchful eye says:

All Maltese of goodwill expect a categorical and unambiguous statement of condemnation and disassociation by the prime minister from Norman Lowell’s attempt at associating himself with him.

Ordinarily, that wouldn’t be necessary. But given the way Muscat is speaking, it is.

  9. Socrates says:

The disgusting narrow-minded Norman Lowell is back, and the Prime Minister couldn’t belittle himself any more than he has done by pleasing him. He is openly associating himself with people of obscure, shadowy and unreliable character. We deserve better.

Note to Simon Busuttil. 36,000 CAN be wrong. And they were.

    • Calculator says:

      Amen to that.

    • La Redoute says:

You’re wrong too. Several thousand more vote Labour regularly.

    • Catsrbest says:

Not just 35,107 were wrong but 167,533. At least I heard Simon Busuttil clarifying that statement yesterday on Radio 101. He said they were deceived. Yes they might have been deceived, but I believe, when they have had so many other means and individuals enlightening them about the deception, they cannot blame anyone but themselves and their short-sightedness, selfishness and ignorance. I only pity those 132,426 smart voters.

      • Volley says:

Spot on Catsrbest. I’ve always believed that the outcome of the last general election was the result of selfishness and ego-centricsm of the majority of the Maltese people. So I’m not the only one who thinks this way.

      • Calculator says:

You’re definitely not the only one Volley.

Whilst I confirm openly that I have been reading your running commentary for a number of years, never wrote any comment on this medium, however today I must submit a short one on this LOW idiot as his first 3 letters of his surname confirm.

This man – if you can acall him that – may not believe in after-life, buit unless he changes his ‘heart’ he will be blacker than any illegal immigrant after his death.

    • Catsrbest says:

This sorry sod likes to call others, especially those who do not agree with his views, all sort of degrading names. He thinks that his looks are of a superior breed. However, although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I definitely do not agree with his view. I maintain that, if his beloved Hitler had won the war and invaded Malta, I am sure he would have been in the fore to be sent to the gas chamber.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

And if we hadn’t mietna ghall-barrani, the young Dom Mintoff would have been next in line for the gas chamber.

Mintoffianism and Dvx-worship are two sides of the same coin.

Lowell doesn’t quite belong to the latter, but he invariably attracts the Jo Meli type.

  14. H.P. Baxxter says:

You know I serve no one but the truth. So I must correct you on Norman Lowell. Nowhere in his political beliefs, warped though they may be, does he include stringing up homosexuals. The choice of sexual partner, male or female, says he, is a matter of individual freedom and is does not fall within the ‘Imperium’s’ remit.

Having said that, Norman Lowell also states that this is a battle of culture, i.e. Western vs non-Western. Herein lies the glaring contradiction. He supports the man who fought to keep us out of the Western fold, who worships the man who took us out of the Western fold, who rode to power on the backs of the masses who are anything but Western in thought, action, spirit and aesthetics.

    • La Redoute says:

There is no inherent contradiction. Norman Lowell is bonkers. It follows that he would admire Muscat.

      • Josette says:

He might be bonkers – and am not sure about that – but he is certainly dangerous. Actually his words convince me that evil does exist and that that it’s an infection which is spreading rapidly. I just hope we do not see a repeat of the arson incidents from a few years ago.

Mark Montebello ghal-habsin biss jaqbez? Jghidilna xi haga fuq din il-policy tal-partit li jappoggja hu.

  16. Alexander Ball says:

They can’t even get their racism right.

Real racists would actively seek to repatriate any dark skinned person.

Problem is, a lot of Maltese look dark-skinned to me. Dilemma.

  17. A Montebello says:

I can’t begin to describe how disgusting i find this. How scary and disgusting.

Perhaps if Muscat won’t condemn Dalli, then Dalli should condemn Muscat.

After all isn’t Dalli supposed to be – out of the goodness of his own heart – raising billions for the very people that Muscat is depriving of the charity of good and kind people.

    • Edward says:

Good point! Dalli should be speaking out against this.

But then again, so should Cyrus Engerer, although I get the feeling he only cares about himself and his own vanity.

      • ciccio says:

If I understand him correctly, Cyrus defends black people, but only if they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

It’s not as if Joseph Muscat’s policies weren’t spelled out right from the beginning. Remember that famous first interview chez the Muscats, where Lil Din showed us her gingerbread skills?

Joseph had a (French) gay couple (from the Sorbonne, no less) strategically drop in by accident just at the right moment.

        Gay.

        But not black.

        There.

  18. A Montebello says:

And why the hell hasn’t the media covered this yet?

  19. ciccio says:

I am now morally convinced that Jason Micallef, John Dalli and Norman Lowell must all have a ‘Lorry Sant’ brown envelope.

    • La Redoute says:

You credit Muscat with more competence than he can dream of. The man is a recycled Super One reporter, for heaven’s sake. Why do you expect him to ever rise above that level, held back only by the contents of a brown envelope?

Jason Micallef might have a brown envelope, but John Dalli’s a money man and Norman Lowell is nuts.

    • anthony says:

      I disagree.

Jason and Dalli yes. They both very clearly have huge brown envelopes.

Lowell, on the other hand, has no envelopes whatsoever.

He only has a grievous problem of a very personal nature.

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

Norman Lowell doesn’t need brown envelopes.

For years, political leaders ignored him. They thought if they’d pretend he didn’t exist, he go away. Wrong. Politics abhors a vacuum. Throughout the 20th century, the Far Right rose to power where there was a weak Liberal Right.

Labour soon twigged that they could win votes by using the same nationalistic discourse. They found it easy because Mintoffianism’s narcissistic patriotism is more or less in the same vein.

The PN, like the fools they are, refused to engage with Norman Lowell, because he was infra dig. I have always held that you cannot defeat an opponent by ignoring him. You seek him out in the field and defeat him in detail.

We all know the result. Every last Norman Lowell groupie voted Labour, as per his instructions.

Imperium Europa’s leadership is not some desperate band of monster raving loonies. Some of them hold government posts. Some, like Arlette Baldacchino, are successful entrepreneurs with all the right social and professional connections.

The PN’s response to the rise of the Far Right was pathetic. They resorted to the law courts (lawyers to the end, bless them). This approach has failed wherever it has been tried. You don’t defeat a stupid or weak argument by a court sentence. You defeat it by a brilliant and stronger argument.

In the end, voters looked for the PN’s policy on migration in the globalised 21st century and found nothing. They looked for Labour’s and found Mintoffian slogans on the national interest and push-back. The latter won by default.

It’s too late now to translate Joseph Muscat’s words into French and German for his little Socialist Eurobuddies Hollande and Schulz.

  20. Alfred Bugeja says:

If this comment by Norman Lowell was made public or broadcast on any medium, the police have a duty to arraign him under the new anti-xenophobia articles which were introduced in the Criminal Code by the previous government. I know for a fact that people have been successfully prosecuted under the same law for posting far milder comments on timesofmalta.com

[Daphne – If it were not public, Alfred, we would not have been able to copy it and paste it here. It’s very public: on the internet.]

  21. stiefnu says:

If these immigrants had the right to vote, Dottor Joseph Muscat would surely change tactics and attitude towards them.

    • Paul Bonnici says:

Like it happened in many parts of the UK, that is why Labour (UK) let so many immigrants into the UK.

  22. lino says:

Where does our President and the Church authorities stand on this?

  23. Antoine Vella says:

The irony is that Joseph Muscat opened his first speech as MLP leader by plagiarising Martin Luther King. I have a dream, he said.

We’re now seeing what the dream was.

  24. Tabatha White says:

“When We, of Imperium Europa will be in Brussels in 2014 – we will give our PM strong support from there.”

I believe this deserves a long and hard look. It seems that this danger is being ignored.

We’re looking like fools in Europe at the moment but how much worse is it going to get next year with the MEP elections?

Norman Lowell is completely off his rocker, and I am perfectly qualified to say this.

The huge problem is that he is semi-eloquent and puts on a show of the type only “Wot the Hack” mentalities would be proud of. As a national ‘diversion’ it is one thing, but on a European level it is the beginning of a disaster.

He will stage his show on every possible occasion.

    I’m seeing black.

  25. MarioP says:

What a sick f*ck that Norman is.

So that’s what Joseph’s next ‘terrimott’ was about – transforming the socialist party into a far right party of hatred.

  26. Pandora says:

This is also a matter of an incongruency in our self-concept. Many Maltese define themselves as European Christians but are aware (whether we admit it or not) that most of us look more like North African or Middle Eastern people.

Moreover, any non-Maltese who hears us talk would say our language is a form of Arabic.

So a way of trying to distance ourselves from this image is to not only deny these roots but spew hatred at every occasion. What such people don’t realise is that this attitude and Norman Lowell’s talk does not bring us any closer to European thought and culture but rather the opposite.

    • Calculator says:

      I think that’s a pretty good assessment.

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

Our self-concept was fucked up by the independence movement. A country this small cannot exist as a separate entity. It’s like claiming that Gibraltar is a nation-state. If we’d become a British dependency we wouldn’t have all these hang-ups about ‘European identity’ or ‘Arabic language’.

I don’t know if anything can be done about it. It’s too late now. But our intellectuals, with their heads firmly up their arses, aren’t helping. Mark Anthony Falzon seems to be the only one who sees these things.

  27. Paul Bonnici says:

I can’t understand why journalists in Malta keep justifying illegal (not irregular) immigration and human trafficking.

Desperate immigrants give rise to abuse by employers to lower wages and working conditions, pushing the Maltese out of the labour market.

You cannot compare the Maltese who went to Australia in the past, they went there with passport and the correct documentation and not paid a human trafficker to get them to Australia.

Immigration has destroyed the character of many parts of the UK. Malta must deal with illgeal immigration head on.
