Der Spiegel: USA bugged EU offices and computer networks
And we’re sending ace career diplomat and scintillating brain Marisa Micallef to Washington. Well, she’ll help sort things out.
With luck she’ll have got her talons into some stray and unsuspecting gentleman of means by the time the year is out, and retire to Florida.
But really, you just have to read the Reuters report below. Der Spiegel is a VERY reputable news magazine.
This puts the sore inadequacy of our pathetic lump of a National Security Minister into the proper perspective. He and the government now really do have a matter of national security on their hands: alleged EU spying.
Perhaps they have already forgotten that we are part of the EU and not an extraneous observer who shouldn’t ‘take sides’.
Other EU member states have begun to demand explanations already, and in Malta our National Security Minister is busy saving the pennies by having the police cook and serve, while his ‘chief of staff’ – a middle-aged man – tries to get into the VIP area at the Isle of MTV concert with his lady friend, and ends up in a public row.

George Vella must be wetting his diapers. I wonder if he’ll be using burner phones or maybe go even more old school and use callback numbers from payphones to get secure lines.
