Did he really say that? Our foreign minister thinks Switzerland is in the European Union

Times of Malta reports an excruciating statement apparently made by our septuagenarian foreign minister, who with Alfred Sant and Joseph Muscat fought a fierce campaign to make Malta the ‘Switzerland of the Mediterranean’ rather than an EU member state:
Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella said today that Malta was very grateful for Swiss cooperation on irregular migration, particularly as no other EU country had shown similar support.
If that redundant ‘other’ was not inserted erroneously by the reporter, then it’s even worse than we thought possible.
Also, is this government on a mission to make sure that it makes at least one EU-hostile declaration every day, via its various ministers?

Facepalm .
Perhaps, they are preparing the ground (brainwashing the non-sophisticated pupulation) for an eventual referendum with a proposal to exit the EU.
They are rearing to get Malta out of the EU. It is OK for them to accept funds from the EU.
Does Joseph’s famous roadmap indicate the way out of the EU? We were told that he had one, but never told to where it led.
X’misthija waqajna fiha! Addio l-qabza fil-kwalita!
Miskin – senile already?
Someone else did think that South Africa is our neighbour, did he not.
Syllogism a la Labour movement:
1. Malta is Switzerland in the Mediterranean (the MLP deep desire).
2. Malta is in the European Union (in spite of what the MLP always wanted).
3. Therefore Switzerland is in the European Union (the illogical conclusion of our Foreign Minister George Vella.
Since I carry a Swiss passport, I suggest that the Swiss people should determine EU membership, not some inarticulate, disoriented buffoon
Ask the people in the PPCD who worked their ass off for the last 9 years to get EU funds (on migration) Ask them how much money did we get from Switzerland? and compare that with compassion. Ian Borg should know the answer.
