    Wonderful news, l-ahwa!

We know where we’re heading: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-07-22/euro-area-government-debt-rises-new-record-high

And do keep in mind that the Eurozone is de facto a federal state, less a tweak here and there, which is why we’re on the Eurotanic.

Sorry, all life-boats reserved for big bankers.

    • La Redoute says:

Who’s paying you, Kev? And in what currency?

      • kev says:

The European Parliament pays, La Redoute, in eurotanic notes created for us as debt by the ECB. I hope your savings are not all in eurotanics.

      • La Redoute says:

Why are you so heavily invested in an economy, polity and currency you know are going to fail?

      • kev says:

What an idiotic comment, La Redoute. It shows you haven’t a clue of what I’m talking about.

      • La Redoute says:

What a silly response. It shows you don’t really believe what you’re saying. It’s not as is you have to work for the EP and live in the Eurozone.

    • WhoamI? says:

Imma il-Missus saret nies u taqla l-flus tahdem ghall-EU. erm sorry, tahdem kontra l-EU, imma insomma fhimtni, kieku ma tezistix l-EU, il-Missus trid issib xoghol iehor.

Isn’t there someone out there who’s got a knack for graphology?

  3. Eugenio Muscat says:

MHUX ta b`xejn li hawn MALTA hawn 65,000 f`riskju ta`faqar.

  4. China Crisis says:

Konrad Mizzi was on sabbatical from PCubed in 2012 “due to election campaign” but gave part time support.

What company offers a one-year sabbatical on the offchance that the taker might be elected?

Is Mizzi now on sabbatical for a 5-year term in government? Is he still an energy sector partner in PCubed? How does he keep those interests separate from his ministerial commitments? Or is he still working in PCubed’s interests?

  5. Watchful eye says:

    Still missing one Daph.

  6. Alexander Ball says:

    Jacka-fuckin-nory.

    Code of ethics, my arse.

How many are willing to swear on oath?

  7. Joe Fenech says:

What’s this? The Bumper Book of Very Silly Jokes?

  8. C Falzon says:

If Dr Refalo’s loan were to be interest free and he used every cent he earned to repay the loan it would still take him twenty years to pay it.

If on the other hand, like us lesser beings, he has to pay inrterest then his entire income would barely suffice for the interest, without any left to actually pay back the amount owed.

And what is he doing with all those flats? He ought to be earning a ton of money from from them out but it seems he’s just keeping them vacant.

  9. pale blue my foot! says:

Scribbled lies in contempt of the people.

  10. verita says:

Dr Mallia’s declaration refers to 2011 and not 2012.

  11. Yanika says:

At least the minister doctor’s handwriting is legible.

  12. Felix says:

Hope that Maltese journalists iqumu mir-raqda li reqdin.

  13. Toyger says:

    Where to start?

Roderick Galdes, Michael Farrugia and Evarist Bartolo need caligraphy lessons. Their handwriting is barely legible.

Owen Bonnici’s seems to be fairly up to scratch, unless he omitted something we don’t know about.

Franco Mercieca: doesn’t be own a flat in Portomaso. Also, the income he declared is ridiculously low.

George Vella: it’s true that his house is bungalow-like but it’s so big it borders on the villa side of things, albeit fully undetached.

Edward Zammit Lewis: what’s with all the circas? Income shouldn’t be circa, but as defined in his FS3, and as regards to money in the bank and loans, he could always have checked online his status as at 31st Dec 2012 and listed that figure.

Joseph Muscat: so his house is a gift from his parents and therefore he has no loans. Fair enough. So he spent 5 years earning an MEP salary, had no loans to pay, and still has no shares/bonds? And only Eur70,000 in the bank? He either doesn’t know how to manage his money (miskina Malta) or else he’s lying through his teeth and phoney grin.

Karmenu Vella: couldn’t he just insert the relevant info in the form rather than attaching all those annexes filled in as NIL or N/A?

Konrad Mizzi: hasn’t he just bought an apartment in Sliema? And even if these assets were as of 31st Dec 2012, he was still living in Fgura. So his house was fully paid? Or did he just forget to list the loan?

Evarist Bartolo: all these years on planet Earth and still no shares/bonds?

Marie Louise Coleiro Preca: so she was happy with just the MP honoraria and didn’t feel the need to have another job. How does she expect the ‘poor’ people on relief to get off their asses and find a job rather than sucking on our taxes, when she herself does the same?

Manuel Mallia: no income, miskin. Maybe he’s living off that stack of cash.

Louis Grech: says where he got his income from but omits the value…really classy.

Hope I didn’t leave anyone out.

    • Toyger says:

Left some out apparently. But I can be excused seeing that this is the largest cabinet in Maltese history.

    • Toyger says:

Re George Vella’s house…the one I referred to is in Triq San Girgor, and it’s his residence. How convenient of him to forget it.

      • Josette says:

I think the house belongs to his wife – I believe it comes from her side of the family.

  14. Harry Purdie says:

Such a joke. ‘Do it yourself’. No conformity. True Labour.

  15. Gordon says:

I really like the way that Manuel Mallia’s ‘Titlu Ufficjali’ is ‘Avvukat’…everyone signs off with their ministerial title but M&M says avvukat…blissfully unaware

  16. Il-Perit says:

So where is Anton Refalo’s irregular villa in Qala? It doesn’t seem to be listed in his declaration of assets.

The villa was deemed illegal up until some years ago but all those passing by through Qala on their way to Hondoq Bay can now see the activity going on as some permits may have been issued….or have they not?

  17. Joe Fenech says:

Seriously – the UK’s (and not just) council tax declaration form requires more detail.

  18. Peter F says:

Dedicated to all those who thought arrogance is a Nationalist prerogative.

  19. Pepe` says:

Does none of them own a yacht?

[Daphne – Apparently you are not obliged to declare yachts, cars, paintings, jewellery, antique furniture and other valuables, which sort of makes a mockery of the requirement to declare stocks and shares.]

  20. matt says:

They all prospered handsomely under the PN governments. What a great testimony to the PN’s administration success. This is a fraction of what they disclosed.

  21. Str8 says:

Some are truly unbelievable and as a result, are an insult to the public. If the Tax Compliance Unit doesn’t investigate, then there is no justice.

  22. Robfromrock says:

Manuel Mallia’s declaration form seems to be outdated.

It reads ‘Dhul 2011’ not 2012

  23. Paddling Duck says:

Wow! Godfrey Farrugia is living on a €60,000 overdraft.

  24. pm says:

Re Dr George Vella: What about the house/villa in St Gregory Street, Zejtun?

  25. Jonathan says:

Edward Scicluna has Eur500,000 in government bonds. You would think that an economist of his calibre would not invest in a pajjiz fallut.

  26. AE says:

As far as I can see Joseph muscat only declared the income he received from the Government presumably as Leader of the Opposition.

Does he not also still receive an income from the Europen Parliament?

[Daphne – No, not if he resigned his seat, which he did.]

    • AE says:

I thought he had a pension due to having been an MEP, which is why he dragged his feet to come back to Malta to make sure he spent the required stipulated time there. If this impression is incorrect, my apologies to Dr Muscat.

[Daphne – Yes, but the pension comes with pensionable age.]

I usually don’t comment about language but Debbie Schembri’s comment below this article is hilarious:
“…is the pens witch Africa..”, I got it when I read it out loud.

  30. just me says:

These declarations are an insult to the intelligence of all Maltese.

  31. Harry Worth says:

Imsieken … hafna minn dawn il-Parlamentari kienu jahdmu bil-prekarjat.

  32. James Bartolo says:

Isn’t it strange how ‘Jose Herrera & Advocates’ is still fully functional, the lawyers still in regular contact with Jose Herrera, yet, although his office is listed in his declaration of assets, the firm itself isn’t?

Is he not a director at a firm named after himself?

Also, does he actually reside at his office, together with his wife? Check out the document annexed to his declaration of assets.
