Excruciating. And I don’t just mean the syntax and spelling.
Dalli says he’d never met Barry Connor before he turned up at the Bahamas house.
Right.
That explains why he openly discussed his highly confidential, this-is-private-not-goverment-business with a total stranger who then promptly offered the use of his trust fund to enable the transfer of Dalli’s non-existent millions to the Bahamas o help people in Africa.
Whoever’s advising Dalli should now advise him to shut up. He
The famous innovative power station again.
Maybe the $100M were going to be used to pay any government which would buy it.
I see that John Dalli did not sign as the Commissioner for Health and Consumer Affairs. Did he resign in the last 24 hours?
U miskin!
Imma dan bis-serjeta jahseb li jibqa jilghab l-istess loghoba ghal dejjem?
Dated 2nd July, today the 1st.
[Daphne – No, today is the 2nd.]
I am not too sure. The Commissioner claimed it is the 1st, so it must be.
Was the letter written by Saviour Balzan?
John Dalli.
Form II F.
It would certainly help Dalli’s cause if the persons responsible for the “philantropic project” came forward and confirmed what he is saying.
A bit difficult, as they’re buried under the Libyan desert.
Some of them are still alive, sheltered by nearby friendly dictatorships.
Or at least thoroughly taxidermied and adorning some Arabian palace somewhere.
If this entire saga was about something philanthropic, what was the urgency all about, then?
Why leave in the middle of an important EU meeting to go to the Bahamas there and then?
Couldn’t the matter have waited till after the EU meeting has ended?
We have to assume that it was something that really needed his presence ….. probably delivering or picking up something or somebody ?
Or maybe unwinding some dubious banking arrangements he had made to handle dirty money he was hoping to receive. Funny it was all such a rush … and right after Zammit was first interviewed by OLAF. Were they spooked and in panic?
Utter w*nk.
This guy just keeps on digging.

Can anyone in his right senses imagine Dr Joe Borg or Dr Tonio Borg doing all this secretive voluntary work involving millions of dollars in a non European tax haven and writing a precisely worded letter like this?
My conclusion is that a new charitable trust company was formed where money was dumped and from which a Sargas plant will be built in a Maghreb country.
If he was discovered doing such dealings before he was made commissioner, would he have passed the grilling process before becoming an EU commissioner.
Why is it that Labour accepts such a person of dubious repute within its fold?
“Why is it that Labour accepts such a person of dubious repute within its fold?”
It’s because Dalli fits perfectly in the Patit Laburista mindset.
Greed, delusion, more greed, shameless, and grabbity-grab.
Labour figured they could learn a lot of fraudulent tricks from this maggot.
They must have utter respect for him.
Maybe j dalli ba is right. He was not trying to move millions of dollars to the Bahamas. He was trying to stop the transfer not being affected.
He was tipped off that he was being investigated, and so he took evasive action not to sink deeper.
Dalli said that these millions of dollars do not exist YET. The money was due to be transferred there.
Why would he have panicked in that manner after speaking to Zammit, who had just been interrogated?
Or perhaps the money existed from some other illicit dealing and the moment he got wind that OLAF would be investigating further, he thought it would be wiser to “hide” the millions in his possession.
Although your comment of stopping a transfer being effected does make sense too.
The Police Commissioner is still dumb about the latest developments regarding John Dalli.
It is in the international press now. Is he going to open again the investigations on John Dalli after he closed them a few days ago? The reputation of the Police is now at stake.
Don’t worry about the international press.
We will now invite the international press – starting with those at the International Herald Tribune, The New York Times and the Berliner Zeitung – to a High Society soiree with the prime minister and his wife at the Girgenti Palace and will get the police to cook and serve them a nice dinner with lots of wine.
I thought Peter Paul Zammit was the Head Waiter.
It appears, from your comment, that he’s really the dumbwaiter.

Did he copy Tonio Borg in his email?
Fejn hu Eddy Privitera? Kif ma zzattatx u kiteb xi haga f’dan il-blog biex jaqbez ghal John Dalli, jew ghadu jahseb li Johnny baqa’ Nazzjonalist?
Looks like some note a schoolboy would give to his teacher pretenting to be his mother saying ‘his dog at his homework’.
Have a look at these:

Dalli’s attempt to link the story to the OLAF vote being taken today got this reaction:

The Police Commissioner will do whatever Joseph Muscat and Manuel Mallia tell him to do — yes sir, no sir, three bags full, sir.
He’s now believing his own LIES.
Teflon John II strikes again.
If nothing sticks to Teflon, how come Teflon sticks to the frying pan?
Wow, was that it?
We can all go home now and sleep soundly knowing it was all smoke after all?
I don’t think so. Lots of questions arise out of that statement.
I doubt it would be accepted as a statement in a court of law without being shredded by the opposing lawyer. You need to name names, places and purposes, Mr Dalli.
Saying ‘this is a private trip’ or this is a ‘private charity’ just does not go far enough considering what is being alleged.
Once you are a public person, the public deserves to know – so that you can assure us all that you are truly innocent.
“These millions of dollars DID not exist” – hmmmm DO they exist now?
If I understood correctly he very selectively omitted a number of MPs from the circulation of that letter.
Why doesn’t he just take what he’s got, be grateful and just disappear.
He can easily afford to live permanently in the Bahamas.
I would suspect that he has the “believe your own lies and half truths ” bug.
When you’re in a hole stop digging.
Any bank accounts in the name of your daughters?
