No, this is not a joke. It’s fresh from the government’s Department of Information

From the list of tomorrow’s press calls, described as ‘press coverages’:
The Hon. Michael Farrugia, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Simplification of Administrative Processes, Mr. Mario Cutajar, Principal Permanent Secretary & the Hon. Michael Falzon, Commissioner for Simplification and Reduction of Bureaucracy, present new website for Simplification.
Believe it; it’s true: Press Coverages

How very post-ironic.
Your comment, in its brevity and succinctness, has made my evening.
Simplification: (verb)
-changing things so that we can be as corrupt as we damn well like.
– the dumbing down of advanced systems and their protocols in order to be able to do what one likes, since no one had the decency to leave behind a handbook, or a copy of “Governing in a Democracy for Dummies”
Sorry, that should read (noun)
In a nutshell: that’s it.
And it also means: get rid of that ‘briksa’ or water it down and make sure it permits as many waivers as possible.
Nice …and when we access this website 25% of the computer screen will remain blank. Simple.
Hopefully it’s user friendly too…
Why not simplify their title first?
I would be more concerned why the PM has nothing say with what’s going on at the moment?
He’s lost for words and has run out of excuses.
He’s just lost.
Sounds like a DPRK press release in Engrish.
Yips. Done by a google translation.
Can’t wait for the press coverage issued by the Commissioner of Komplikajxin
This is the most pedantic, overly verbose press call we have seen since the invention of the printing press.
Douglas Adams is in!
Sinisterly Orwellian
Simple people try and complicate things. So what could they simplify any more?
One needs to have an excellent grasp of the subject matter to be successful in delivering simplicity.
A key question to ask is: simplicity for who? the supplier/ administrator or the customer/ end-user?
I have not kept count but what with new ministries, ministers, commissioners , titles such as the one mentioned above and assistant bottle washers to the bottle washers we probably have more bureaucracy that we have ever had before. Roll on, Malta.
I suppose it is time for Simon Busuttil to ppoint out to Muscat that he needs help – URGENTLY.- It is evident that things are out of hand, to the detriment of the running of the country. I hope that Muscat will be humble enough to admit that there is a very urgent need of help.
Joseph Muscat is making it very simple. He is ignoring everything as if nothing happens.
I read those titles and I think Harry Potter.
Hogwash rather than Hogwarts.
I think Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister. But at least there the bureaucrats, although self-serving, are also intelligent.
You have to be simply absurd to include too many simplifications in one simple paragraph. How pathetic.
The anticlimax deserves the Pulitzer prize. A website. Wow.
That’s very much simplified LOL
“Simplification and Reduction of Bureaucracy” gone stark raving mad at the very head, in consonance with everything else concerning the Joseph Muscat government.
Sir Humphrey would be so proud of that.
Soon they’ll be ending all their press releases with a “simples!” like those TV meerkats.
Message to the clowns in government:
Keep it Simple, Stupids.
Muah.
A website designed by simple minds for simple minds.
Monty Pythonesque, surely.
I’m just waiting for a Ministry (or, at the minimum, a Commisioner) of Silly Walks.
Qtajt nifsi naqra l-press release. Intlift f’nofsha u kelli nerga nibda.
Mhux ahjar qalu xi haga hekk “Three ‘wise’ men present new website for Simplification.”
@ beingimpressed. I am VERY concerned that the leader of the Opposition has nothing to say about what’s going on at the moment . Has he OD’d on Stilnox ?
All they need now is a Commissioner for the Simplification and Reduction of Excessive Verbosity in the Job Titles of Commissioners.
The excessive verbosity must be more rapidly infectious than the common cold and the Commissioner must have caught before he could do anything about it. Let us hope that he is being isolated in a suitable ward before he continues to spread it instead of controlling it.
