So much for the rapid burial, if this is correct

Published: July 23, 2013 at 7:14pm

I have it from sources within the Forensic Unit that the bodies of the murder victims buried last Saturday were exhumed today for “further tests”.

I can’t get any official confirmation at this time of day. If this information is not correct, the Police communications officer can ring me – they have my number – and I will put things straight.

I don’t expect a call to tell me that the information is correct (though that would be nice), so if there is no communication to the contrary, we’ll know that yes, the bodies were exhumed today after their very hasty burial within 24 hours, last Saturday.

Very efficient police force I must say.

    It was bound to happpen.

Yet, they can identify a victim from a single foot and without a DNA test.

    So 80’s.

Does this government actually plan these weekly screwups? They appear so consistent.

On another thread i passed the following comment:

“Can someone tell me what exactly is happening here? Seems to me that the release of the bodies was either ordered by someone who is very negligent, highly incompetent or somewhat interested in concealing evidence.

    The question is who?”

If what Daphne said about the corpses being exhumed is correct, then the Police Commissioner really needs to answer some questions. The bodies should never been released within 24 hours or less of being found. Their early release is either a case of gross negligence, gross incompetence, or something very sinister has happened in the corridors of power that has thrown proper procedure straight out of the window.

    Must be a record!

If this is the case, it sounds like the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing…or possibly something more sinister.

    The fastest burial/exhumation cycle ever.

I never trusted the police force in Malta. In my opinion, not even under the PN administration was it ‘purged’ enough, as it should have been, let alone under this scum lot of a government.

In the circumstances you just DO NOT bury after 24 hours.

This stinks (excuse the pun). It really does.

    The mind boggles.

I bet Keith Simpson is tossing in his grave.

    All this is extremely fishy.

If this wasn’t deadly serious stuff it would be Keystone Cops material.

  13. Jeremy says:

Yes, you are right. The magistrate ordered the exhumation of the body for another pathological examination. The order to release the bodies for burial was issued by the police, acting on whose instructions we don’t know.

Yes, but we don’t know how that meeting went.

But in all fairness, I truly pity the boy.

He didn’t live long enough to try and extract himself out it all, if such a thing were indeed possible.

There should be a well-publicised agency to help young people break out of these situations, if they wanted to. Give them a new identity, help them find work abroad if needs be. Protect them from their families.

It’s done in some countries with Muslim/Hindu girls either running away from planned marriages or just wanting to exercise their freedom.

Children born into these criminal families really stand no better prospects than routine visits to Corradino.

You were right. Won’t Police Commissioner Peter Paul Zammit hold a press conference to explain?
