A 30-year-old heroin dealer was jailed for eight months today after being found guilty of selling heroin in Hal Qormi 11 years ago, when he was first arrested.
His defence lawyers are the Law Commissioner and Chief of Constitutional Reform, and Marion Camilleri, who shares his practice.

If you were to ask Franco cock-a-doodle-doo Debono why he is defending heroin dealers while he is the Law Commissioner and Chief of Constitutional Reform, he would answer
“U allura? Imbilli. B’daqshekk ghamilt xi haga hazina? “
Maybe he lost on purpose to spite you and prove you wrong about consorting with senior cops.
Again, this flagrant conflict of interest in Franco’s current employment and role of Law Commissioner cries foul.
The many stupid promises made by Joseph to one and all before the last General Elections are causing unethical and unacceptable situations for which he’ll pay a high price very shortly.
I am sure that had the drug dealer in question conducted his own defence he would have got less than 8 months.
Its all in the family, see his father or uncle (it tifel ta Gamri is sagristan) singing in the Zecchino D’oro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YYYq2XY9g
Oh well, at least he lost. One more behind bars and let’s hope the amnesty doesn’t apply to him.
Seriously though, the “man” has no idea what is appropriate and what isn’t for the Law Commissioner.
Prosit, Franco.
The guy was caught ‘bang to rights’, or ‘red-handed’ to use a more simple term for you, and yet you still did your best to keep him on the streets, where he’d continue to be a potential threat to the lives of society in general, not least of all our children.
Shame he only got 8 months.

When Franco Debono was an MP, he finally started to realise that his obsession to be given a ministerial point wasn’t going to materialise.
So he went mad at Prime Minister Gonzi. He used to harass the Prime Minister with telephone calls and sms’s day and night. On one particular occasion Debono phoned Kate Gonzi and told her she should immediately take her husband to Fr Ghirlando because he was dominated by devils and needed to be exorcised.
Of course Dr Gonzi is a true gentleman and never revealed the contents of the sms’s nor did he speak publicly about this particular incident but people who were very close to the Prime Minister knew about this incident.
The only reason that could exist to justify Franco Debono ever becoming a Minister of government is to see how much cash he reports in his declaration of assets.

I wouldn’t say getting only 8 months for heroin trafficking a “loss of the case” – rather, I would call it a mini-triumph.
