    Quoted from The Malta Independent:

Speaking to this portal, Minister for Civil Rights Helena Dalli said that her ministry was ensuring that human rights are not breached and hoped that the ministry could continue to work with the NGOs that withdrew from the consultative council.

She said that both the Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister assured her that human rights will not be breached, adding that Dr Mallia also told her that he was also prepared to meet with the NGOs that withdrew from the council to convince them that at no time were human rights breached.

What a prat the dumb Tweed is. Of course no human rights were breached. The ECHR stopped you from doing so and after they did you and your fellow Tweed said those who stopped you breaking the law have to shoulder their responsibility for doing so! Just unbelievable.

And I can confirm that on Wednesday she was on a visit to the National Commission to the Promotion of Equality. Somewhat ironic, isn’t it?

Joseph Muscat called the xenophobes who spread anti-immigrants messages on the social media as “racists” and “a minority.”

“These racists are a minority, and the government does not condone this kind of language,” Muscat said. (MaltaToday)

Those “racists” were reacting to Muscat’s threats to send immigrants back. Did Kurt Coconut Farrugia issue any denials yesterday before the ECHR stopped the government from pursuing its intentions?

Muscat now has a law on hate crimes. What action have he and Peter Paul Zammit taken to bring those “racists” to justice? Their names are listed on the blogs of The Times, and another agreed with Joseph Muscat to “implement push back” and to “refuse to pick up the floating Black garbage when they next arrive.”

    • Jozef says:

That quote is vintage Muscat. Remodulating the obvious.

He doesn’t condone, but neither does he condemn.

  3. Betty says:

The idiocy of Tweedledee is even more apparent because he and Tweedledum, the brilliant legal lawyer, both knew that they should never go there and utter the word “pushbacks”.

This tactic brought them the prominence and attention in the EU and the international media for the wrong reasons. I’m sure that Van Rompuy told them in no uncertain terms that if they insisted on their illegal actions, his visit will be off.

Yes, loudmouth Gabi must have been too busy for over a week now to express her LGBT reactions to the PM’s threat.Il Ministru Dalli chose not to speak at all. Her Refugee expert Fr Colin Apap (ara fiex jifhem fir-Refugjati), had not yet left for his Kenya mission when Dr Joseph started babbling, and they just kept mum. U mela issa “her ministry was ensuring….” u l-bravu Mallia “at no time no human rights were breached”. You threatened and played with the lives of the migrants for days pulcinell.

The same concern was shown by the “hanina” Marielou C Preca, Minister for Social Solidarity my foot. Not a word.
Get some consistency in governing you amateurs.

    • Victor says:

Hasn’t anybody noticed that in her speech, Helena Dalli mentioned the amount of money that has been allocated to the NGOs?

If it was her intention to provoke anger against the NGOs, she succeeded, as can be seen from comments on facebook.

I honestly cannot decide whether these people are totally stupid, or totally evil, throwing in subtle statements that ignorant people pick up according to their lack of brains.

But then again, they do know that most of their followers are not too affluent in the brains department.

  4. Francis Saliba MD says:

Those “racists” were not reacting to Muscat’s push back threat. They were responding favourably to it and the LP commentators in the local media relished every minute of it.

I watched this on TV the other week and highly recommend it. It makes you realise the damage bigotry and hate have (in cases you didn’t already know). Hate against gays or hate against blacks, it all have the same result.

Also, being me, I have to toss in another remark on the harm done by religion. Uganda’s hatred of gays have spawned nearly exclusively from the enormous influence of, mainly American, evangelists.

  6. M.Galea says:

Really interesting video. Shocking, and so sad, but not without a really good laugh in the chicken / spitting bit. It’s so meaningful in that our xenophobic society is so similar to this Uganda fear and hatred of gays.
