I take it if Muscat had been in power during the Libyan uprising, he would have gladly sent the two pilots back – in the national interest.

Daphne someone has started a petition to be delivered to Joseph Muscat…
Save the Victims: Malta should not push-back migrants illegally
http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Save_the_Victims_Malta_should_not_pushback_migrants_illegally/?agNsiab
EVERYONE… PLEASE SIGN.
Best effort I’ve seen so far, second to Daphne’s blog.
I’d drop the “illegally” qualifier. We don’t want it done simply because it would be the wrong thing to do. Period.
The death penalty is legal in most states in the US. That doesn’t make it right.
Noble thought, but petitions don’t work.
Someone should push Joseph and Manuel back where they belong – in the gutter.
Can we organise something to show solidarity with these people if they are going to be sent back…why not go the airport?
If I recall correctly Mintoff had deported a Libyan at Gaddafi’s request, must have been in the mid-Seventies, but I cannot recall the exact events, maybe someone here might know this story.
Will Airmalta also be held responsible for ferry the passengers back?

Agree with the petition. Send all illegal migrants to the PN HQ. There they will be welcomed with open arms.
