Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando has appointed the daughter of his personal lawyer as legal advisor to the state council he chairs

You will know from one of my earlier posts today that when Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando was summoned to PN HQ in March 2008 to be interrogated about the Mistra contract he first hid and then lied about, he came under duress and accompanied by his lawyer, Alex Perici Calascione.

I now see from the Malta Council for Science and Technology website that his daughter, Maria Elena Perici Calascione (a lovely young woman, I hasten to add, and a new graduate who is just starting out) has been appointed legal adviser to the council.

Legal Advisor
Dr Maria Elena Perici Calascione
Email Perici Calascione Maria Elena at MCST
tel: +356 23602 127

If she is as smart as her parents (and by all accounts she is), she will be good at the job even if she lacks any experience. But it absolutely does not look good, and the Malta Council for Science and Technology is not Pullicino Orlando’s personal fiefdom, with jobs in his gift.

But that is exactly what it became. Why do you think that Nicholas Sammut made his second best choice in life (his first was studying for a Ph.D. at CERN) when he left MCST?

Whilst we are at it JPO may also wish to tell us whether it is true that he is employing Stephen Ciangura as his driver.

Was this building negotiated before the election? Where is FAA now?
