Now we have to ask why the Labour press has launched a full-frontal attack on the police officer who arrested and arraigned the real culprit
There’s another question we should be asking beyond why the police arraigned an innocent man on theft charges when the real culprit was known to them already.
This question is: why have the Labour press and its fellow-travellers launched a full-frontal assault on Police Inspector Taliana, who arraigned the real culprit and in doing so, revealed the botch-up (or was it a frame-up)?
Inspector Taliana has sued a couple of newspapers, including Malta Today, for libel already.
Police Minister Manuel Mallia’s aide, Silvio Scerri, also seems fixated on Taliana, as yesterday’s reports in the independent newspapers show.
Why are they attacking Taliana for arraigning the true culprit (who had admitted guilt already) while saying nothing – or seeming to protect – the officers who arraigned an innocent man?
As I said earlier, by the time this lot are done with Malta, we’ll be envying Palermo.

The Labour-leaning press attacks Inspector Taliana, who arraigned the true culprit:

Maybe because he showed them up as the pillocks they are.
Huge cover-up backed by the government.
Huge cover-up backed by the police (which in normal countries is separate from the government).
And not a word from that Debono. Imagine if it were Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici.
Saviour’s double standards are sickening.
It is a Maltese phenomenon I am familiar with – a person is chided for doing their job too well.
I didn’t understand it then and I understand it even less now. Where else in the world would a policeman be criticized for catching a criminal and bringing them to justice?

Maybe its the obvious because he revealed their incompetence or their frame-up.
The more I dissect and the more I ruminate the more it appears to me that someone, somewhere was planning a frame-up.
God forbid my analysis is correct.
Police Inspector Taliana is being pilloried because the discovery of the truth, the absolution of wrongly accused (or framed) persons, the prevention of crime (especially politically motivated violence) and hauling the real criminals before the courts of law are now out of fashion just as much as they were in the time of Mintoff, KMB and Lorry Pullicino.
That is the obvious reason why the pre-election Labour propaganda deceitfully urged the electorate not look back so that they wouldn’t learn anything from the bitter lessons of the 70s and the 80s.
Events are proving that the “new” LP movement is not averse to re-introduce that anarchy after they were enabled to do so by the “shifters” of the last general election.
The reins of power in Malta are in the hands of ‘pimps, thieves and scoundrels’
I have been asking this same question since stories about Taliana starting surfacing.
This morning’s Malta Today is running a character assassination piece on Taliana – throwing Tonio Borg in the mix for good measure – and I really cannot understand why.
To us logical individuals this does not make sense but why kick up such a storm against Taliana?
It just doesn’t make sense. Something is of course unknown to us and whatever it is, it smacks of foul play.
So much for whistleblower protection!
Typical Labour mentality. After Inspector Taliana they will attack the victim’s mother, and the victim himself. We have been here before.
I have passed a similar comment elsewhere on the same subject. Here I shall add that should the court decide that such articles are libellous this would be a very serious matter that cannot be ignored.
The newspapers may be guilty as accomplices, but the real criminals, who should never hold public office, are those creating this campaign.
Why all this interest by Charles Attard iz-Zambi?
Are there any pending cases involving Charles iz-Zambi, perhaps investigated by Inspector Taliana?
Drugs, attempted murder, Zambi, Mallia as minister, cock up…. all very fishy.
Exactly what I thought. Why would iz-Zambi go and find the victim and urge him to contact the ministry? What’s in it for him?
It seems that this was a failed attempt to frame Taliana.
Semplici. Ghax waqqa l-bravi tac-CID u l-idjoti tal-Pulizija passiva li ghandna ghar-ridikolu bil-HILA TIEGHU BISS.
Fejn hu l-gharef tal-widna tal-pulizija (John Pisani) biex jiddefendi lil dan l-ufficjal bhalma jaghmel is-soltu? Skiet perfett.
Forsi min jaf, waqqa ghar-redikolu lil widniet tieghu fic-CID?
