You read it here first, but Times of Malta confirms it today: Super One show-host Norman Hamilton is off to London as Malta’s new high commissioner.
Qabza fil-kwalita, indeed.
His younger daughter, who featured in most of the Labour Party’s campaign videos, can now star in a remake of her most famous one:
“Dett, I’m gonna vote Labour ta! Biex int issir the High Commissioner in London and I can spend five years living there rent-free.”
Well, what can I say? At least he’ll be back in time for his 80th birthday.

Shouldn’t spouses be scrutinised before this sort of appointment is made? What on earth is Josette Hamilton going to talk about when meeting the diplomatic corps in London?
I sincerely hope that the subject of the I.O.C. doesn’t ever turn up in her presence.
I’m sure that some may remember the time when she read I.O.C. as 10 cents when she was a newscaster on Xandir Malta.
Norman Hamilton can start a side business in tours down the Thames.
