TVM’s temporary schedule for its morning and evening magazine programmes has been leaked.

Monday to Friday morning in the former TVAM slot: John Bundy

Monday to Friday evening in the former TVHemm slot:

Monday – Saviour Balzan/Media Today
Tuesday – Herman Grech/Times of Malta
Wednesday – Andrew Azzopardi/university lecturer, blogger, interviewer and Labour supporter
Thursday – Reno Bugeja, head of news/PBS
Friday – Norma Saliba/details below

Norma Saliba was employed by PBS/TVM as at the first of this month. For the last few years she has lived with Manuel Micallef, head of the Labour Party’s broadcast media, and has a young son by him.

Micallef has another son, a whole generation older than Norma’s, who is currently making public scenes on Facebook and elsewhere because the Nationalist Party has not accepted him on its ticket for the EP elections. He talks about himself in the third person, which is invariably a harbinger of bad things: “Kullhadd jaf li Jean Claude Micallef…”

I have to wonder, in this situation, whether Jean Claude Micallef supports the Nationalist Party through conviction or as an adverse reaction to his creepy father.

Another middle-aged sleaze ball competing with his son in the youth stakes.

Where are all the normal people?

  2. Reporter says:

We do not wonder. We know.

  3. Alexander Ball says:

    A cornucopia of fruitcakes.

  4. Osservatore says:

Just when I was hoping that John Bundy would crawl back under a stone. Give me Pierre Portelli and Joe Mifsud (with his village mentality and inability to express himself) any time over Bundy. Il-vera jaqq.

Kull stazzjon ghandu bzonn pulcinell bhala simbolu: It-Taljani ghandom lil Gabibbo u TVM ghandom lil Bundy.

So will Norma will be sharing news and information with her partner at Super One?

  6. Volley says:

Back to the 80s when I together with all my family used to watch Italian channels.

  7. Plutarch says:

Oh good! We’ll have Salvu Balzan updating us on DalliBA’s and Mary Swan’s latest philantropic endeavours.

Come to think of it…why not give them a slot as well for such worthy causes?

  8. Chris Portelli says:

I will be looking forward to Monday evenings, then.

  9. Catsrbest says:

Manuel Micallef is first and foremost an opportunist, who believes that the end justifies the means.

  10. Simon says:

Giving Saviour a show closes his mouth and stops MaltaToday digging up dirt and scandalous stories (of which there are plenty) about TVM week after week.

That tactic worked in the past for PBS and it will work again.

However, he’s absolutely dreadful on television.

  11. Nobody says:

Daphne, haven’t you noticed that Neil’s brother James has been appointed as a member on the jail board?

  12. Simon says:

Deal Or No Deal was still 100% better than this fiasco.

  13. Vespa says:

My maths tells me that 5 productions instead of 1 (in the evening) will cost much more to PBS. But maybe they are projecting to sell a lot more adverts when Saviour Balzan is on!

  14. TinaB says:

    Malta Mintoffjana/Muscatjana.

Among them of course is Ivan Grech Mintoff.

And what is he wearing ? A lab coat ?

  16. Wayne Hewitt says:

    Back to Xandir Malta.

  17. Il-Kajboj says:

No wonder Norman Vella was shown the door… looks like that slot was promised to a lot of people.

  18. Min Jaf says:

So, from here on, it is TVM ONE and TVM ONE2. Increasingly subsidized by the taxpayer, naturally, as TVM advertising revenues accelerate down the slope.

  19. Bob says:

Jean Claude is quite a decent guy, always helpful and very good with people in general.

I think he is quite convinced of what he does; you must not judge him against his ghastly father. I think he take more after his mother who is a sweet, quite naive sort of woman who has always done her best to raise a family abandoned by her husband.

    • AZAD says:

Even I am loyal to the party but loyalty is just one quality a candidate must have. Jean Claude is put on par with Joe Cuschieri , we need better quality to represent us.

  20. Jar Jar says:

Oh well, back to Eamonn Holmes and that lovely Charlotte Hawkins for me then.

Who the hell wants to start the day looking at a Bundy, for Chrissake?

  21. Jar Jar says:

Bis-serjeta? Saviour Balzan, the king of bile? A TV show?

  22. Natalie says:

    X’imbarazz.

  23. helen says:

    Is this Malta today?

  27. Antoine Vella says:

Now that he’s been given a partially-iced bun, perhaps Saviour Balzan will tone down his attacks on josephmuscat.com and start ranting against Simon Busuttil instead.

  28. Peppa says:

I want be watching any of these programes for sure, follow me.

  29. david farrugia says:

They said Mintoff is smiling down on us. Well not sure he would haveappreciated such a farce…after a religious funeral, a church burial and now to top it all a whole list of prayers for his soul.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Net should pick up where TVM has left off, bring back Dr Joe Mifsud and Pierre to REGA SEBAH on Net TV.

  31. Ronnie says:

  33. sammy says:

Very interesting and fresh. Bundy in the morning…how original. TVHemm was one of the best tv shows on tv. Xi hdura u ghira ta’ nies. Nies b’ hafna talent se nitilfuhom minhabba l-hdura. U Xarabank x’ se jaghmlu? Min jaf.

    • Joe Micallef says:

Yesterday I watched 5 minutes of the Bundy Show and he must have said “faqa”, “bomba” and “tal-genn” a dozen times each.

The guys at L-Akkademja tal-Malti must be overjoyed.

  34. AZAD says:

Andrew Azzopardi/university lecturer, blogger, interviewer and Labour supporter and may I add that he always turned on his PC and started clicking on it during the AZAD consultation meetings last summer.

I felt ill at ease discussing with him political issues with his lap-top running. One can record whole discussions on computers.

    • soss says:

Ifhem hi…iben andrew azzopardi jahdem ma’ inewsmalta

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

Why did you even invite him? He shouldn’t have been there. For a start, he’s Labour through and through. And he’s so insufferably conceited he makes sure to vomit on everyone around, so discussions with him are impossible.

      • AZAD says:

Simon Busuttil invited him, Mr Baxxter. From the list I received as a participant I found out that he also invited people like Josie Muscat, Astrid Vella and Marco Cremona. Need I say more?

I was in the same working group with Andrew Azzopardi.

I wouldn’t be surprised that we were directly linked to some eavesdropper.

  35. CIS says:

Thank God we now have an alternative. In the 70s and 80s we had no choice as there was no cable – only antennae and from certain places in Malta we could not see most of the few stations available.

  36. Gel says:

I have it from very good sources that Saviour Balzan was very pissed off that he did not get his iced bun and turned his guns on Muscat. Seemed to have paid dividends as he got his programme.Very poor substitute to Norman Vella

  37. Alex says:

Programmes to Malta Today and Times of Malta – are Manuel Mallia, PBS Minister, and his chief of staff trying to buy their silence?

  38. Galian says:

    Thank God for Dreambox.

  39. Giraffa says:

One more reason to ditch cable and instal a satellite reception. Dardir Malta is re-born. Is this the change the switchers voted for?

  40. evelyn says:

    • M. Cassar says:

As many have realized, change for change itself is not a good thing, sometimes ‘the devil you know’ adage makes sense. Your comment is the flimsiest justification ever! Wonder if this is the reasoning you use when your partner comes through the door?

  41. Brian says:

Great – a laghqi with my breakfast every morning. No thanks.
