Come on, don’t you know who he is?

They really are making the most of feeling important, aren’t they? What a plague of ravenous locusts.
Manuel Mallia’s head of secretariat, Silvio ‘Do You Know Who I Am’ Scerri, isn’t in any danger of assassination or other forms of imperilment, but it’s common knowledge among the police that he has two Secret Service personnel detailed to him, even though there’s nothing official.
I hasten to add that they are not monitoring him, but there to make him feel important, unless there’s something we don’t know, of course.
Lovely, isn’t it – the ministry for the police and the army have turned the police and the army into their batmen.

There IS something we don’t know. We don’t know who he really is.
Do they make him a sandwich when he’s peckish?
Do they accompany him to the toilet, like those 10 bodyguards who accompany his Minister?
IL PADRINO has to be protected ladarba issa kullhadd jaf min hu.
Meritokrazija skond il-Labour: Iktar ma tkun ZERO, iktar tpappi.
Oh but perhaps they are there at Manuel’s kind offer, to make sure he doesn’t get one idea too many, or go a step too far.
If he feels he needs to make use of a phrase like that, then he might not read all that’s between the lines.
Satisfying his megalomania at our expense.
