10.15am today, and the Health Minister and his girlfriend are strolling along the Sliema front in holiday wear

A member of my international worldwide network of spies, this time in my native land of Tower Road, Sliema, has sent in this photograph, taken at 10.15am, of the health minister Godfrey Farrugia and his girlfriend, Labour MP Marlene Farrugia (the surname they share is a coincidence).
Judging by their ‘weekend attire’ and their casual strolling, it seems they have taken some time off in the middle of the week to spend quality time together, which is now possible because John Dalli is taking care of the situation at Mater Dei Hospital and the public health service.

Looks like quality time indeed.
Both of them claim to be ex-Nazzjonalisti and they seem to be pondering whether their move to Labour was the right one.
Godfrey should be thankful that the Minister for Home Affairs has no jurisdiction over his ministry. Otherwise he could have been suspended (and probably disciplined) for not being physically at his place of work.

Dear daphny I think he looks quite relax, since he has all that responsibility about out of stock medicines.we the sick people are all worried about our medicines and he is walking alongside his friend.perhaps he went for a stroll just to refresh his mind on how to go on being the minister of health .i don’t think that the j dalli cares anythink about the people’s health problems. He is only worried about his millions and the Bahamas!,,.r
Could it be a new way of ‘managing by walking about’?
I’m glad to see they’re back together.
But my pills are still out of stock 6 weeks on!
Health warning. Taking pictures of V.I.P.s can be dangerous to your camera.
Labour Ministers seem to be avoiding the south. Wonder why.
They appear to be thinking, “What a mess we ended up in”.
Daphne, at the time of your posting this entry I happened to be phoning my P.O.Y.C. (a few hundred metres from where this photo was taken) to enquire whether my ‘out of stock’ Statin tablets had reached the pharmacy. I had been told last Friday (when I collected my other medicinals) to do so either yesterday evening or this morning.
The reply was that the Statins delivered yesterday had, by the time, been ALL distributed to some of the entitlement holders.
That means, in a few words, that not enough had been delivered to the pharmacy – a ‘policy’, it seems that has recently been adopted by the Farrugia/Dalli combination.
Had I known that Godfrey and Marlene were doing their love ‘walkabout’ on the promenade, I would not have hesitated to approach him and give him a piece of my mind.
It’s funny, isn’t it? Godfrey and Marlene colonise our native land of Tower Road ( as you so correctly put it ) and the likes of us take refuge in the very villages they flee from. Sic transit gloria mundi!
She’s well rid of him :- http://daphnecaruanagalizia.com/2013/10/the-problem-with-these-laburisti-is-that-they-completely-lack-sophistication-and-like-cheap-wine-they-really-dont-travel-well/
Forsi ha gurnata sick.
A little bit of love never hurt anybody, mhux hekk – it’s all under control in the hands of Johnny Bahamas anyway.
Things have certainly come full circle. Anyone remember the early days of this government? In their efforts to try to impress the peasants they were all over each other trying to grab the headlines with this fellow specifically taking up office at Mater Dei Hospital to show us how it’s done.
Except that things didn’t really get done but by all accounts they got drastically worse. Now he has enough time on his hands to enjoy quite a longish weekend, while Bahamas Dalli takes over.
John Dalli is using the large office and the boardroom at Mater Dei Hospital, which is refereed to as the pent house while Minister Farrugia has been relegated to a very small office in the hospital basement.
Casual Fridays maybe?
Give them a break Daphne. At least Marlene had the decency to speak up in favour of Norman Vella and against this dictatorial regime.
