A loading point for ‘our religion’ that is being ‘taken away by the clandistines’, perhaps? Though more likely bad translation of ‘Dutrina’.

  2. Makjavel says:

    Cathecism lessons pick-up point.

But then there are about 40 different nations and possibly 10 different religions in that area.

The guy who wrote it must be an alien.

  3. RoyB says:

I don’t think “indoctrination” would have fit.

  4. bob-a-job says:

    ‘Cat lick fate’ obviously.

  5. Alexander Ball says:

    Left foot drive vehicles?

  6. bull's eye says:

You cannot expect any better with the absolutely clueless people in government offices – it could not be otherwise – the iced buns had to be delivered, come what may.

  7. Macduff says:

    Tal-Muzew jew id-duttrina.

  8. Sully says:

Cathecism – brainwashing children into being Catholics, yet as adults they generally end up racist, crooks, amoral …

    • Min Jaf says:

As well as totally lacking in the love and compassion that are fundamental to Christianity.

    • Fido says:

So by your logic, to have a good chance (opposite of ‘generally’) of not being a crook, racist, amoral, etc you have to be anything but Catholic.

Speaking of biased deduction, taking any remote opportunity to attack the Catholic Church. Rather pitiful.

[Daphne – Actually I agree with Sully. Catholic doctrine does breed bigger crooks and moral/amoral pragmatists, because it is all about sin and redemption. You sin, and you get forgiven, your sins absolved, so you might as well sin. Then there’s all that ‘the devil tempted me’ rubbish, and stuff like you shouldn’t lie because you put another thorn into Jesus’s crown. What happens is that people grow up linking wrong and right to religion – they dump the religion and they dump all sense of differentiation between right and wrong. When morality is taught OUTSIDE the remit of religion, it becomes an intrinsic part of that person’s make-up – and when morality is taught outside religion, there is no concept of absolution, or ‘sin’. You don’t do it because it’s wrong, end of.]

I believe that its one’s upbringing that sets your behaviour -morally or otherwise. No amount of going to doctrine classes or exclusive schools will really change you much.

      • Floater says:

Catholicsm (or Christianity in general) is more than that. Forgiveness does not come easy, if one does not forgive the others himself…

        and forgive us our trespasses,
        as we forgive those who trespass against us;

It is also about (and not being) name-callers, proud, self-praising, etc. etc. Does morality outside religion teaches these too? For if it does, someone must not have been a good student.

Of course, it is difficult for all us, cause forces of nature lead us elsewhere. Yet you can denigrate the PL as much as you like, but you cannot denigrate the absolute Good and the Truth.

  9. Big Daddy says:

I’m assuming it’s Catechism (our “duttrina” or “mużew”), but filtered through the medium of basic illiteracy.

  10. H.P. Baxxter says:

The arrow points upwards. I think it means none will be saved except Catholics. The rapture will occur on a Tuesday or a Thursday at those times.

  11. rpacebonello says:

Who is the idiot who wrote this?

  12. Jeremiah says:

Getting ready for the Rapture. Note the self-assuredness of that little arrow, pointing straight up towards the Pearly Gates.

  13. Why waste time speculating on the message that the sign makers may have intended to convey?

It is daft and a public demonstration of the illiteracy that prevails in officialdom in Malta.

Anyone with a minimal sense of pride in the ministry or department concerned should remove that sign at once, and send the sign maker back to primary school.

  14. chully says:

Follow the arrow. It is the way to heaven.

  15. Meatball says:

Isn’t that discrimination on the basis of religion? If I was an honest to God Pastafarian and I wanted to drop my children off at Durumtrina would I get fined?
