Comment of the evening
Posted by Arrogance Unlimited:
Ray Azzopardi, our honourable ambassador, was booked on the 16:05 flight to Brussels. At 16:00 he was still in the La Vallette lounge and with table manners that certainly didn’t indicate ambassadorial status, he was hunched over a ftira biz-zejt whilst his assistant, a man in an ill fitting suit and wearing dark sunglasses despite being indoors, fetched some drinks.
The assistant’s phone rang and after a short conversation he turned to the ambassador and stated ‘Qed jistennew lilna’.
With only slight urgency Mr Azzopardi took his last bite of ftira, the assistant downed his coffee and off they headed towards their gate. The flight was not marked as closed until 16:10.

He should try that with another airline, he would definitely be left behind and luggage unloaded. Power went to their heads it seems.
The pilot was afraid to take off without them in case they made him turn back to pick them up.
This would have caused a ‘diplomatic’ incident.
Maybe he should try flying with AirRogance.

Typical labour-il-gvern-taghna-naghmlu-li-rridu, mentality.
Nothing new. At least to those of us who are old enough to remember.
Maybe I’m letting my imagination run wild, but everytime I see that face I can’t hep but imagine Simpsons reporter Kent Brockman

You are way too kind. Kent doesn’t look an inbred.
He is just following his leader’s example.
King Albert, here I come.
This type of behaviour should inspire riots amongst the majority of Maltese. But then the people always get the government they deserve. I say this with sadness, because I never voted for them.
Actually it is common practice for patrons of the La Vallette lounge to be given the option of boarding the plane first or last.
This Excellency of an Ambassador was only making sure that all the other passengers had boarded safely, that no one was being left “stranded” and that he was not jumping anybody in the queue.
Honi soit ……
Malta’s Ambassador to Belgium has also been accredited to NATO (even though Malta is not a member of NATO, it has had an accredited Ambassador since Tarcisio Zammit in the early 2000s). Will Ray Azzopardi also be continuing this trend?
If they have trips and nice helicopter rides, why not?
Kont nahseb li aktar hemm finesse fil-La Vallette Lounge, mhux li ssib ftira biz-zejt fil-menu.
There is a Maltese proverb that fits perfectly the performance of some official appointees by this government.
“Those who have never worn pants tend to dirty them as soon as they put them on for the first time.”
