I suppose we should be grateful that Hugo Chavez has popped his clogs

Probably the only reason our government aren’t making overtures to North Korea already is that even they realise that this would be pushing the envelope just that bit too far. Joseph Muscat, speaking at a Labour Party club this morning and quoted on Times of Malta:

Touching on foreign affairs, he said a meeting held at the request of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had unblocked stagnation in relations between the two countries, and a Russian envoy would come to Malta next month to discuss ways of moving relations forward.

Officially, the government hasn’t made the overtures to North Korea, but the President has sent his ‘greetings.’

No, but Muscat will increase the EU trade with Russia. By selling them PVs made in China, re-exported from Malta.

So what will Mr. Nair convince Joseph to sell to the Kremlin, at a nice commission to himself?

    • ciccio says:

The Kremlin is interested in oil, gas and pipelines.

Rubbish. It is interested in selling all that, not acquiring it. In short, Malta is of no interest to Russia, which has bigger fish to fry.

And however scathing you may be of Russia, it is nowhere near as corrupt, manipulating or evil as China.
