Is that one big Freudian slip or what?

Let’s keep this in mind

Norman Vella recently said under oath that in a meeting with Joseph Muscat, the latter told him:

“For every attack we feel that is directed at the Labour Party, I will retaliate with twice as much force, with all my might, below the belt, where it hurts.”

Now The Malta Independent has rung Muscat to ask him for his views about Vella’s arrest and interrogation:

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat did not want to comment on what he said were “personal issues”, when asked this morning for his views on the police investigation Sunday evening involving former TV presenter Norman Vella.

How is this in any way a ‘personal issue’? Not so clever, are we, in giving the game away like that.

Then, asked why government communications coordinators – all of whom have come out of the Super One stable – have been sent to the BBC for training when the BBC does not train government agents and officials, but only journalists, the prime minister said:

“So that the coordinators could work with journalists, I imagine.”

Imagine? Ah yes, like the song:

    Imagine there’s no Muscat,
    It’s easy if you try.

  2. Jozef says:

Vella’s open support for George Abela in the leadership race made it personal.

  3. Dangerous says:

There is also another important thing to consider. Let’s not forget that Mr Vella has a pending case against the government and with the confiscation of his mobile and tablet, the government could easily have access to confidential correspondence with his lawyers, since most smartphones synch with email accounts.

  5. Smirnoff says:

Of course he won’t comment – how can he comment on what he has no control over. At least that’s what it looks like. Muscat has lost control and has NO control on those people like Manuel Mallia and John Dalli, and all those businessmen, who have him by the balls because of the commitments he has with them. No more no less.

  6. HARRUBA says:

He has control but he has no honesty or transparency We’ve been seeing that repeatedly over and over again.

‘Below the belt, where it hurts’

    It’s surely personal (t)issue.

  8. The Observer says:

The PM should know what is and is not going on, or is he losing control already?

  9. CIS says:

Heartfelt support in this difficult time for Norman Vella. May justice be done – I very much doubt it. Dr Muscat – you have lost the plot.

  10. Edward says:

By the sounds of it Muscat thinks it is normal to be completely misinformed or uninformed at any given moment.

Could it be that the pupose of this frameup on Norman Vella was simply to get hold of his mobile and tablet?
