“Joseph Muscat speaks and acts as though he’s chairman of China’s Mediterranean subsidiary, responsible for the Mediterranean and African regions”

A pertinent piece of observation, posted by ciccio:

The government said the Chinese are planning to use Enemalta employees to service other power stations that China has in the Mediterranean. I quote Times of Malta.

And I say:

“Why not?”

“We are blessed with a very good, very important strategic position. We are in Europe, but we are in the centre of the Mediterranean.

“Companies that want to penetrate … the North African market have a safe haven where to invest…You are 30 just minutes away from Libya, 1 hour away from Egypt, 1 hour away from Tunisia and all the other places.

“So it is the best place where to position your Head Quarters, where to service all these countries just in one place.”

Of course, I have to acknowledge the source of my wisdom: Joseph Muscat’s three minutes of redneck fame on Fox News.

And I say even more than this. If the deficit is used to “throw money at the docks”, we can even re-open Malta Drydocks and the Enemalta workers will do some ship repair there at huge losses to be subsidised …from the deficit.

And “we will stand up to be counted.” We will make “Europe wake up and smell de coffee.”

It is becoming evident that Muscat thinks as his de facto bosses, the Chinese, do. He appears to be thinking more in terms of China’s strategies than Malta’s.

Therefore, it is no wonder that he sees strategic value in the China-Malta deal on Malta’s electricity monopoly.

The way he talks on Fox news shows what’s on his mind. And it’s essentially a Chinese vision for the Mediterranean, North Africa, and Africa.

The man has become a puppet of China.

And he acts as though he is chairman of China’s Mediterranean subsidiary, responsible for the Mediterranean and African regions.

Does anyone out there still think Muscat is bright, fresh and a leader?

30 minutes away from Libya or did he mean Catania?

He also said… companies that want to penetrate not only the European market have a safe haven here… He was certainly thinking about China.

He also talked about being flexible and positioning our economy as part of the Global market rather than just the European market.

Yes I agree, his interview on Fox News certainly showed what is on his mind.

Thank you for posting this here.

Reno Calleja, the “Kolonna Laburista,” once wrote an article which he entitled “China in my eyes.”

Joseph Muscat may soon find himself writing Malta’s history “from the eyes of China.”

Muscat has been compared to il Duce before. What he is doing with the deals between Malta and China as part of global trade wars is the ‘peaceful’ equivalent of how il Duce sold Italy cheaply to Nazi Germany during a real war. Thankfully, Italy was lucky, because the Germans did not win the war, but il Duce lost his own war with his own people. That was not a nice ending.
