Labour MP Marlene Farrugia calls Norman Vella’s treatment “abusive” and “bad”
All this going on and that hard-drinking ex husband of hers is concerned (attaparsi) with cyber bullying and a teenager who killed herself in another jurisdiction thousands of miles away.
Incidentally, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando Smith (Smith, as it happens, was never the family surname but a ‘laqam’: tas-Smith, something to do with a British brand sold here or similar) was doing the supermarket shop at Shopwise in Hal Qormi the other day, which is where he usually does it.
His bill at the till came to Eur500, which he paid in cash from a wad in his back-pocket. Long live Botox, caries and the preference of villagers to pay in bank-notes. Oh and Jeffrey, it wasn’t any member of staff who told me, so don’t go trying to get anyone sacked, Mr Small and Vicious. Your face is on television and in the newspapers routinely. You were noticed.

Marlene Farrugia tikkummenta kontra l-Labour http://www.independent.com.mt/articles/2013-10-28/news/labour-mp-in-defence-of-norman-vella-3021504512/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook
Muscat said Norman wasn’t arrested. Anyone’s guess what that means.
Il-lupu ibbidel sufu u mhux ghemilu
Hmieg kienu u hmieg jibqaw
Marlene is the most decent thing the MLP have in their midst. Tis’ a glimmer of hope, but a glimmer nonetheless.
[Daphne – Well, that’s a real indictment of the Labour Party, isn’t it, if somebody like Marlene is a glimmer of hope.]
“Malta jixirqilha ahjar” says she.
Nonsense.
“Malta jixirqilha hafna aghar” in my opinion.
Following a landslide victory by a political party led by an obnoxious moron, Malta deserves nothing better than eternal damnation.
The country is well on the way to prostituting itself globally.
The eternal damnation bit will follow as a matter of course.
Surely, if “Malta jixirqilha ahjar”, she shouldn’t have supported the Labour Party?
HPB, many people were fooled. The implosion will be a gradual process…
It seems I have to spell it out then: she’s shamming.
I had the same thought, Baxxter.
A voice within the camp that those with the beginning of feelings of misgiving can align themselves with, rather than exporting them to the Opposition.
Blanket utterances on the lines of “every person within PL is corrupt” makes one sound like Beppe Grillo or Nick Farrage.
I will never accept this attitude. I, for one, am in no way, shape or form, truly represented by this ass of a government. Nothing they do is ‘in my name’. Government – right enough. They were elected as such, but I refuse to be associated with them, or made to shoulder part of the BLAME for putting them where they are.
Look, short of assassination, there is nothing that anyone can do, so I suggest you grin and bear it for the next five years.
100% right you are Neil.
I agree 100% I had already made a point here that Malta has a cheap liar for a Prime Minister.
There is a policy of individual non-accommodation of a deceitful government that everyone is in a position to adopt.
I believe that is why they made sure to put their people in place everywhere, before the onslaught of deceit begins.
You are right. I am of the same opinion.
HPB, whatever you think she’s doing or she’s actually doing, an implosion is inevitable. PL’s politics are a scam so ‘vedremo delle belle’.
I have yet to see a socio-historico-economic majority of 36,000 “imploding”. It’s physically impossible. We’d have had to kill Mintoff in his cradle, long ago. Now it’s too late.
Baxxter’s right – there is no way it can or will happen, particularly with this lot who are still in a state of ecstasy at finally being in power, and sure of staying for a full legislature. No change before 2018 at the very earliest.
No one can rub off the Mintoff spirit : Mintoff = Labour. There was one Alfred Sant who tried but he soon gave up.
Within a party that shelters a community of power-junkies, an implosion will take place once dormant factions start competing with each other.
The future has a way of randomly interfering with “well-set” plans. With some luck, and if we all do our bit in actively going half-way to meet it, maybe that shift will happen with, or without that randomly induced additional help.
An action a day to keep Labour away.
That, each one of us is in a position to do. Have a conversation, contribute in some way, simply make a conscious effort to notice more of what should not be there: with a zoom in and out of a particular area, be firm in our own values and convictions, take time to explain what should be clear and isn’t…Actions count.
As Winston Churchill once said,
“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”
Wise words which are sadly very apt in the case of this pathetic country.
Marlene is going to be silenced one way or another.
Quite the contrary. She will be touted as an example of the progressive and liberal stream within the progressive and liberal rainbow movement that is Labour. Joseph Muscat, I say again, is more evil and manipulating than anything we can imagine.
I agree.
Once again you hit the nail on the head.
You rarely miss.
Precisely that. Evil and Manipulating. These are all tactics. As if JM would have allowed a real dissenter to voice a contrary opinion.
“Perception is real even when it is not reality:” that is a concept they operate with.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if Marlene “did a Jeffrey” to Labour?
She can try. But those 9 seats are just something else, aren’t they?
The lady is certainly a damn sight more scrupulous than any of her party-mates, no mistake. I worry for her.
She could carry her partner with her. He’s suffering enough as it is.
Can someone please tell me where is the champion of all fairness Peppi Azzopardi? and the rest of where is everybody for that matter?
Where is every body at Where’s everybody?
Carry out a proper analysis of the staff content for Where’s Everybody since its inception, and the source of that staff.
Especially, in the light of recent revelations.
I wonder if they even batted an eyelid at their ex-workmate’s fate.
Xarabank is a banal programme. Bondi+ was much better and you’d think the presenter was man in the wider sense of the word. But actually he turned out to be as weak as the next.
Norman Vella, a lot of people support you. Your fate showed up the MLP for what it really was and continues to be. May the truth triumph.
Tgħid ifajrila xi daqqa taħt iċ-ċintorin lil din issa bħalma kien għedded lil Norman Vella?
JPO’s wad of cash – all declared income I assume?
