Din il-gimgha sar maghruf li Shiv Nair, negozjant multi-miljunaarju Ingliz li jghix f’Malta, qed jassisti lill-Ministru tal-Energija Konrad Mizzi f’investimenti marbuta ma’ dan is-settur. Ftit tal-jiem ilu Nair akkumpanja lill-Ministru Mizzi fil-Qatar fejn saru diskussjonijiet mal-Ministru tal-Energija tal-Qatar.

Nair huwa konsulent tal-Malta Enterprise ghall-investiment barrani, u fil-passat hadem ma’ Gvernijiet ta’ diversi pajjizi, fosthom tal-Afrika, tal-Amerika Latina u tac-Çina. Il-gurnal ‘The Economist’ iddeskriva lil Nair bhala “l-arma sigrieta tac-Çinizi gol-Afrika”. Nair huwa wkoll maniger ta’ diversi kumpanniji bbazati f’Malta, fosthom il-‘La Vallette Corporation’.

Ix-xahar li ghadda Joseph Zammit Tabona gie appuntat bhala l-mibghut specjali tal-Prim Ministru ghall-promozzjoni tan-negozju. Zammit Tabona ghandu esperjenza twila f’dan il-qasam, fejn kkwalifika bhala Chartered Accountant fl-1971 u matul il-karriera tieghu kien Chairman ta’ diversi entatajiet.

Fosthom kien Chairman tal-Accountancy Board, Malta Stock Exchange, Finance Malta, Viset Malta plc, il-Korporazzjoni Maltija ghall-Izvilupp (MDC), il-Korporazzjoni Maltija ghan-Negozju Estern (METCO), l-Istitut ghall-Promozzjoni tan-Negozji Ûghar (IPSE), u iktar tard tal-Malta Enterprise. Sas-sena 2000 Zammit Tabona kien ukoll sieheb fin-negozju ta’ Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

  1. Kerry says:

    Birds of a feather.

  2. We are living in Financial Times says:

Joseph Zammit Tabona is still officially High Commissioner to London, so isn’t he part of the team that should have vetted such a character?

  3. Min Jaf says:

“Jingieb investment lejn Malta”, indeed, but only by crooked dealers, dictators, and Mafia money now.

The investment climate prevailing in Malta, as brought about by the irresponsible and inept Joseph Muscat administration, is enough to scare off serious and honest investors.

  4. La Redoute says:

    “Hatriet ta’ prestigju”

It would take a Labour mindset to say that.

  5. Francis Saliba MD says:

Does Malta need the services of someone, whose accomplishments, as quoted by the Labour Press itself, include being China’s secret weapon in Africa and against a dismal background of being debarred twice by the World Bank under two different names?

The Maltese proverb says eloquently “Ighdli ma’ min taghmilha u nghidlek x’int”

  6. Victor says:

The best part is where they quoted that he was called “China’s secret weapon” as if it were a compliment.
