“I’m liberal and progressive so I voted No to EU membership. Now I’m lecturing the EU on its business.”

The brass neck on some people is just unbelievable. Fresh in from the Department of Information:

“THE EU CANNOT AFFORD ANY DELAYS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 2014-2020 FUNDING PROGRAMMES” – DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER LOUIS GRECH

Reference Number: PR2123, Press Release Issue Date: Oct 01, 2013

Deputy Prime Minister calls for urgent agreement to begin implementing new EU-funded programmes from January 2014

Speaking during a meeting of the General Affairs Council in Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech has urged the EU’s main institutions to strike a final agreement on rules effecting future EU-funded projects.

“We have a common responsibility to ensure that these efforts lead to growth and development to the benefit of our citizens and enterprises.” he said.

He stated that the Council and the European Parliament cannot delay the adoption of the legislative package any further, adding that a timely agreement is in the interest of Europe and its citizens.

Why is he so desperate for EU funds?

Doesn’t he still think that the ‘Partnership’ was the best choice (“il-partnerxipp l-ahjar ghazla”) for Malta?

  2. Brian says:

Oh I see! Mela we DO get money from the EU.

  4. Paddling Duck says:

Well if they haven’t even finished negotiating a final partnership agreement for the programming period, partly because the new Labour government wanted to change it after it found it ready after they were elected, what do they expect?

Malta makes gods out of f*ckers and idiots rather than people who can think and do things.

    • TinaB says:

Yes. And that comes about because at least of half of the Maltese population is ignorant and utterly stupid.

For instance, according to Robert Vella “Joseph Muscat stunned the world.”

You have to see it to believe it.

And was never able to see beyond . I ain’t going to go in the whys and the hows figure it out you seem to be smart enough”

Please hurry – we need these EU funds to set up a second embassy in China and to pay glorious and patriotic Comrade Sai, wife of ‘everything is doable’ Comrade Konrad, to help us in the Great Muscat Leap Forward.

Joseph Muscat speaks about the EU as it suits him.

“We will not be dictated to by anyone in the EU” Joseph Muscat, TOM,June 18, 2013.

“We are proud to form part of the European Union …”Joseph Muscat , UN General Assembly.

    • ciccio says:

So in the first one he is admitting that we will be dictated to by others from outside the EU, right?

His statement is technically right. The dictators are not in the EU.

  13. Allo Allo says:

Just like Minister Joe Mizzi re Dock1 works.

As reported in the Malta Independent “Mr Mizzi said that the previous administration had dragged its feet, but he had started working on the project from the very first day he was appointed minister. He said that in the past six months, this government had done what the previous government had failed to do in six years.

Mr Mizzi said that around 80% of the project has been completed, and in a few weeks, the remaining EU funded works start.”

As far as Mizzi and his party are concerned we would not be speaking about the EU-funded projected at all if they had their way in 2004.

    Flash News.

See “Greetings from Maltese President” in the list (news published on 1 October 2013).

    “Greetings from Maltese President

“Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, received a message of greetings from Maltese President George Abela on September 11.

The president extended sincerest greetings and congratulations to Kim Jong Un and the government and the people of the DPRK on behalf of the Maltese people and on his own behalf on the occasion of the anniversary of the DPRK.

Expressing the belief that the good relations between the two countries would continue to grow strong in the interests of the peoples of the two countries, he wished Kim Jong Un good health and the people of the DPRK steady progress. ”

Not in my name, Dr. Abela.

While I express solidarity with the people of North Korea for the suffering they live in, I have no words of greetings to the young dictator, and to the concept of the DPRK.

Why does the President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Malta send greetings to a bloody dictator on my behalf and I am not informed through public news services?

Did Joseph Muscat and George Vella Eyebrows send their greetings too?
