Sent in by Jeff – obviously not that one.

Hi Daphne,

I hope this finds you well. Politics apart, for Malta’s sake, someone should have a serious talk with the prime minister about posture, specifically his arms. He always looks a cross between a village cercura lesta ghall-glied and a bad embalming job.

Additionally his jackets always look like a size or two too small, of the ill-fitting hand-me-downs variety.

I don’t know if you saw any of the takes of the so-called family photo of the summit. Muscat was standing in front of the Irish PM Enda Kenny. I’ve lived in Ireland for eight years now and I’ve seen more of Enda Kenny than I care to mention.

I can tell you for a fact that the look on Kenny’s face as he looked down on his Maltese counterpart was one of contempt and disdain – frankly, very unlike Kenny. I can’t help wondering what Muscat has been up to to trigger such a reaction.

Lastly, and this is going back a couple of weeks, I didn’t notice that you said anything about the comment passed by that intellectually vacant basin of a Magistrate Carol Peralta when he stated that foreigners who break the law in Malta will be dealt with harshly.

This is yet another illuminated display of ignorance by the same man who condones gay hate crimes in places like Mellieha.

Take care

Jeff

    I look at this differently.

There were other moments all through the session when other heads of state were left rambling on their own and come on – this is an EU photo session where only Merkel comes through with authority. Even Cameron and Letta have their sticky moments. Cameron is speaking to Letta but his eyes are are roaming to see who is coming over or who’s within grabbing distance.

Kenny actually slapped our little Joey on the back and shook hands with him. This is all posing for the cameras isn’t it so let’s not read too much into this.

Rather than trying to spot the moment when Muscat feels out of place read his body movements to spot the moments when he is feeling under pressure, actually lying and therefore harming his country.

He always has that slight side sway of the hips and turn of his shoulders when he turns up with a choice of words which helps him slip out of situation. It’s an instinctive movement much like the twinkle in the eye of my seven year old daughter when she comes up with a lie and I can see her thinking to herself “Phew ! I got away with that one – Poor Dad he’ll believe anything”…

He’s swaying all the time during the photo shoot; he did it, for example, when he was confronted with questions about Shiv Nair (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20131010/local/pm-says.489762#.UmuLU9J0xfs)

Muscat will always feel out of his depth in the company of articulate adults; he’ll never grow out of it and it leads nowhere to keep sniggering at him. Spot the moments he’s lying – that should keep you occupied for longer.

unfortunately, foreigners, if they are poor, are always treated harshly by the magistrates. Strong with the weak.

“He always looks a cross between a village cercura lesta ghall-glied and a bad embalming job.”

Probably the best fitting description of the PM’s looks and physique I read or heard. Thumbs up, you just made my day better.

Enda Kenny even tried to avoid him by (by delaying stepping down) until he realised that he could not linger any longer without making it blatantly obvious that it was specifically aimed at avoiding the Maltese prime minister.

Muscat practically forced him to stop and pay attention to him, by blocking him.

Our dear PM is making an ass of himself on Euronews regarding the migration issue.

The video is not online yet, but probably will be in a couple of hours.

Jeff, you couldn’t be more accurate.

  7. L.Gatt says:

It is obvious that the Irish PM was baffled by whatever wise crack “Joey taghna” made. When Joey turned around Kenny’s facial expression said “what the f*** was that about?”

As for Joey’s suits – they just do not fit him. Tight on the thighs and shoulders. He needs an image consultant. I’m sure that there is some switcher or billboarder available to fill the role.

Speaking of suits, why do all EU women wear red suits?

    http://www.independent.com.mt/articles/2013-10-26/news/mda-suggests-incentives-for-first-time-property-buyers-2998665216/

‘….Substantial incentives to encourage the regeneration of our village cores (UCAs), which are being neglected at an alarming rate and there is a huge lack of interests among developers to invest in these localities:

    · a substantial reduction in the MEPA tariffs so that houses and properties in these old areas are renovated, even when this involves demolition;….’

    Renovation is demolition then.

Poor things, they say they’re not interested with current restrictions, and nasty private individuals who took it upon themselves to buy and renovate to live in, have cornered THEIR market.

These will be called ‘Special Designation Areas.’ Of course, special as in their exclusive right to decide what has to happen. And who gives a toss what happens to property value when their mechanised methods move in.

They also propose that all of Gozo be one of these.

Judging by the way that cardboard placard was hung across the mirror, the results can be easily predicted. It’s not even straight.

Go to Valletta before 9:00 in the morning and you see some men very unfitting in suits or jackets going to court. Joseph always looks as if he is one of those.

  12. canon says:

The confrontational attitude of Joseph Muscat in the summit didn’t help much. He made more enemies than friends.

It’s the same with George Abela, the president. He always looks, well, just not smart. Who remembers the film when the Prince of Salina’s family invite a rich peasent home for tea, and when they see his attire, all burst out laughing? It’s the same thing, plus the dyed hair.
