When Shiv Nair lied to me by trying to use my concern for women and children to get his Holland Park Avenue address off this website
On 26 September, out of the blue, I received an email from Shiv Nair, who has always proved otherwise completely elusive.
I did not reply, nor did I oblige. I absolutely dislike being manipulated and lied to. I already had the information at that stage that 135 Holland Park Road, London is not his home, but a mansion subdivided into several flats, where Edward de Bono’s personal assistant, strange names from the former Soviet Union, a Chinese woman and some companies are registered, and so is he, but his wife is not.
And a wife living in London permanently while her husband lives in Malta permanently is not a wife but an ex wife. So I sensed a lie here.
I have since found out that he was, indeed, lying to me: his wife and children live with him permanently at Portomaso, and his children are at a private independent school here in Malta. I know which one but it’s not relevant.

When, after living on the island for almost ten years, I was asked to assist in bringing in FDI, little did I realise what I was setting myself up for. Having said that, I agree that those who assist, or work in the public domain should consider themselves fair game.
I am writing to request you to take my home address in London off the blog, as my wife and children have nothing to do with my work, nor do they have a say in what i do. it is unfair to leave them open to any unforseen problems. I hope you agree.

The Chinese woman registered, on behalf of a Nair company, at 135 Holland Park Avenue, London W11 4UT is Yi Qian Ran, a graduate of the University of Malta.

Who approached (?) Nair to bring FDI to Malta? When did that happen?
How long has Nair been living in Malta? If he arrived before 1998, ten years before the last election, his connection with Muscat is even more sinister than it first seems

In this case the use of the company name British North Borneo, and the derivatives of that name, is a giveaway. Mr Nair and his companies have no connection with the original company incorporated in 1881 as the original company had into history a long time ago. The Malta web site recalls BBNB glorious past glorious past but the fact is that he registered the reincarnation of the BBNB company on 14th April 2010 and filed dormant accounts for every year since then. At a guess I would think that its this ambiguity, which some like the world bank classify as misrepresentation is what naive people fall for.
Mr Nair would do us a favour if he filled us in a bit on the Scottish Business School as information on SBS seems difficult to come by.

Notwithstanding anything that Shiv Nair may or may not have done in business or personal life, or whatever lies he may have told, this sentence (taken in isolation) speaks volumes.

Looks like he is using the Labour framing of “Attak fahxi u moqziez ta’ Daphne” just to get people to feel sorry for him. Dip shit! If he cared about his wife and children so much he wouldn’t get involved in such shady activities.
His wife and children live in Malta, not London. It is others associated with 135 Holland Park Avenue, London, whom Nair wishes to protect. One of the residents there is a long time personal assistant to Edward de Bono, whose brother, Peter, lives in China.
Can we put a face to the name?
There are no known photographs in the public domain that tell you what Nair looks like. He shuns publicity so that he can continue to operate in the shadows.

Joseph Muscat once wrote a book about a certain Roberto Memmo (and was found guilty of libelling Daphne in the process).
Compared to Shiv Nair, Roberto Memmo was a boy scout. Someone could write an entire tele-serial about Nair.
And they could write another one about the other inhabitants etc. of 135 Holland Park Avenue that Nair is linked to.
