My nanna’s expression “ha nkellmek bic-Ciniz” when she was upset is going to take on a different meaning altogether. A literal one.

When the Maltese nation acquired its EU citizenship in 2003, Joseph Muscat was on the wrong side of history.

Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that Joseph Muscat is once again on the wrong side of history with his attempt to sell the EU citizenship.

In the electoral campaign leading to 9 March 2013, Muscat called on the masses to be protagonists and to vote for him.
They trusted him, and they are now with him, betrayed, on the wrong side of Malta’s history.

Many people now think that Maltese citizenship will be given only against payment and that citizenship after a five-year marriage or through other means of naturalisation will not be possible anymore. Is this the case?

Thanks. On the Times there is an article about how many citizenships have been granted since 2004. From the comments board you can see that people think what I have just asked you. I was watching Emmy Bezzina last week and the people who were phoning in were saying ‘issa daqsekk jigu jizzewwgu l maltin ghax cittadinanza’.
