Liberal and progressive update: Muscat in Sri Lanka (probably hawking citizenship)

Cameron Sri Lanka

Comment of the morning, posted by Nik:

The Commonwealth Summit is being boycotted by the leaders of Canada, India and Mauritius in protest at Sri Lanka’s human rights record.

The Australian and New Zealand PMs may also back out, while David Cameron is making a point by visiting the Tamil north.

In the meantime, the PM of Malta is taking advantage of the presence of a motley crew of African despots to hawk a passport or two.

Yeah right, let’s right a wrong with another one.

Mind you, the scheme doesn’t sell citizenship she said, it’s an investment, not a donation. A donation is altruistic.

Where does she get the smoke?

Malta’s call to the world at CHOGM (with apologies to the local mobile doughnut sellers):

Joseph Muscat should deliver a speech to enlighten dodgy African leaders on the art of shitting on your neighbours from a great height: you sell EU passports to those who may have no intention to ever live in Malta.

The enactment of the Citizenship Sale Scheme on Tuesday the 12th, and the Prime Minister’s engagements in the CHOGM in Sri Lanka on Thursday the 14th, couldn’t be timed more perfectly.

But that’s not because the PM will have the opportunity to sell passports to African despots.

It’s because the PM has been desevedly embarrassed by the international media reports of Wednesday the 13th.

His scheme has blown up in his face.

It’s really a disaster to his image entirely of his own making.

Do you think the DOI will publish the picture showing Joseph Muscat “meeting with” Robert Mugabe?

Muscat will have competition in Colombo.

Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and Grenada are all members of the Commonwealth.

Muscat will be re-establishing contact with those despots from AAPSO. They will make an easy market for his sinister passports-for-sale scheme.
