    It’s so obvious, Daphne, you’re making all this up. Shame on you.

    Bet you, you’ve been on the line to all the editors of the above Russian newspapers to feed them misinformation (through an interpreter) about Joey’s grand scheme.

    So clever of you, but you better watch your phone bills. Must be so expensive phoning all these foreign newspapers to commit acts of treason against Manuel Mallia.

      Yes, and Daphne wrote all those articles in Russian and faxed them over for publication.

      She also wrote those articles in Italian, German and Chinese.

      Then she called the Romanian newspapers and sent them drafts in Romanian. Later, around the kitchen table, Codruta patiently translated each of the articles to Manwel while he counted the money in and under the mattress.

    All this bad publicity in the international press, and this morning The Times of Malta is leading with an article on the Chinese and Russians obtaining a EU passport after buying substantial property in Portugal. Why is The Times so desperate in painting the government in a good light?

    26 years ago I had to make a decision and choose between receiving Canadian citizenship and renouncing Maltese citizenship, at a time when the Mintoffian government did not allow Maltese citizens to hold another passport. I chose Maltese, but now I feel embarrassed to show that passport.
