Southern Comfort with Silvio Parnis

Published: November 19, 2013 at 1:18am

So Labour MP Silvio Parnis is another one who has discovered that Joseph Muscat is a liar who tells you what you want to hear to keep you on side until he gets from you what he needs or wants.

He was promised the ‘Ministry for the South’ when Muscat was Opposition leader, and now that Muscat is prime minister he hasn’t got it.

But a few days ago he got his consolation prize as Big Chief of the Southern Council. Not all of his people are impressed. Here’s one who’s not too thrilled, telling Parnis what he thinks. It’s Vincent De Bono (aka Vincent D), who used to work with Parnis on television shows.

Hope that your southern network of spies get Silvio’s reply.

In the meantime maybe we should offered it as a caption competition.

There is more than meets the eye on this gentleman’s Facebook wall. There is subtle reference to something that went on between the two. His latest post is eloquent.

I love this guy …I mean this Vincent Debono.

For curiosity’s sake . Actually is it 2 or 3 jobs because as far as i know Silvio Parnis is also employed with the heath dept .

  8. Fleur says:

From what I know Silvio Parnis was already getting two salaries when in Opposition. He worked as a health assistant within the department of health and was receiving the honoraria from parliament. So I guess this would be his third income now.

  10. Mikiel says:

Mayors are appointed after a democratic vote.

So why must the government appoint a chief responsible for them, when there is already PS Herrera responsible for all local councils.

Will this move not be creating the effect of ‘il-baruni’ that Labour spoke so much about when they were in Opposition?

Don’t these local mayors feel that this scenario is demotivating and insulting? They must be happy and content that their ‘partit’ has just told them that they need someone to lead them, someone great like Silvio Parnis.

Or are they simply happy for Silvio for getting his iced bun ‘ghax ha xi haga hux, jimmeritah dan il-job daqs kemm hadem ghalinha w ghal partit, niehdu pacenzja.’

  11. Bob says:

Vincent D was meant to be his right hand boy when he was meant to be minister, he is waiting for his iced bun too.

  12. ciccio says:

“Biex igawdi ta’ taht, irid jahdem ta’ fuq.” Remember that? That’s what Silvio Parnis had said some time before the elections.
Vincent D is right. Now Silvio belongs to “ta’ fuq,” so he must help those “ta’ taht.”

  13. Joe Fenech says:

Many people in Malta have it bloody good. How could a government appoint people with such an abysmal academical and professional record to such ranks?
