The story you have to read this morning
Phyllis Muscat worked behind the scenes coordinating the Labour Party campaign during the last general election. So that’s all right then: full justification for appointing her to head the task force for organising the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Unbelievable.
Read the report in Times of Malta, which charitably doesn’t mention the fact that her husband Pawlu has been appointed to the Malta Maritime Authority and Transport Malta boards despite having no qualifications other than that he is married to Phyllis.
Or the numerous occasions on which Phyllis and Pawlu Muscat entertained Joseph and Michelle Muscat at their home on the Santa Maria Estate with Keith ‘Kasco’ Schembri, the businessman who is the prime minister’s personal assistant and lives hard by them. Or all the days that Joseph and Michelle Muscat and the Infantas of Castille spent this summer being entertained round Comino on Phyllis and Pawlu Muscat’s sailing-yacht (with the sails down, of course).

Joseph Muscat is a liar or the Oxford English Dictionary needs to update the meaning of meritocracy.
Actually it is the spelling of the word mediocracy that he is getting wrong rather than the meaning of meritocracy.
This lot DREAM of reaching mediocre someday.

How many more iced buns in the offing ? Are there any more appointments still to be effected. Hopefully it is not by giving Gieh ir-Repubblika now – by the way is this combined with a cash reward too ?
I sympathize with all those who will be working with her. She’s so disorganised that she’s going to drive them berserk.
Surely, ‘plucks eyebrows’?
We knew something was terribly and shockingly wrong the moment we learned that the Prime Minister’s use of his private Alfa Romeo on the occasion of his swearing-in was no altruistic, example-setting deed, in prudent safeguard of the public purse, but the very first demonstration of the new style of politics.
Sorry Daphne, but you’re contradicting yourself here. What do you mean that Pawlu has no qualifications related to his appointment to the Malta Maritime Authority and Transport Malta boards? You said it yourself, he has a boat. What more would you want?
The comments below the article are simply astounding. Give her a chance? She gives her 110%? PL giving appointments to people who merit them? Fat chance.
Times of Malta will now wait for your international network of spies to take a photo, it will then “borrow” it from your website and turn it into a scoop.
