Well, he’s not going to upset the applecart now, is he?

Reno Bugeja

How to put a Television Malta head of news on a leash: give him a salary, allowances and perks he can’t hope to get elsewhere, ensure that he is well aware that his appointment has been made at the government’s pleasure and will survive at the government’s leisure, and make sure he isn’t protected by an authority independent of that government.

To make it easier for Manuel Mallia to understand: that’s a thousand euros a week plus another thousand over that.

  2. AE says:

    There goes his independence.

  3. vittorio says:

Now it is clear why he changed his personality overnight. Reno will not bother anymore, perhaps even try to confuse Simon Busuttil which he failed drastically to do on Disset . Politics have reached rock bottom indeed . Can’t trust anyone these days .

  4. Alex says:

It turns out that for presenting Dissett Reno Bugeja is being paid three times the amount that PBS used to pay Norman Vella to present TVHEMM in the same time-slot.

    Compare and contrast:

    He’s always been a Laburist.

  6. Gaetano Pace says:

Reno`s boss has discovered that the best way to keep people happy in their place is to BUY THEM OUT. I am only too happy that I have passed the threshold of six decades and have never been blinded by any thirty pieces of silver. Nor gold if it comes to that.

  7. Gaetano Pace says:

P.S It appears that we are rather living in an age of intellectual prostitution for money rather than in a century of poverty. Or will it be Mrs Coleiro Preca who will now appear to tell us that we are poor because we do not make money out of intellectual prostitution. I am off to Ta Xbiex Gardens by day and Marsa by night.

  8. Vespa says:

In an interview with Saviour Balzan’s Illum, Reno Bugeja states that he succeeded to build a good reputation for himself and his programme Dissett because he was always free to ask whatever he wanted.

But didn’t that happen under the Nationalist governments?

So much for Labour’s (and Debono’s) campaign agaist PBS.
