You can’t create by examining your navel

The Labour view of art: examining one’s navel for half a century. While the truly creative forge ahead with unrestrained innovation and no reference to their navel, Labour – whether in Opposition or government – thinks of art and any other creative process as being merely the medium for fixated socialist propaganda about the Maltese identity.

I quote The Malta Independent, which quotes V18 chairman Jason Micallef on the subject of New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta (God forbid we should allow for any spontaneity):

Mr Micallef said that 42 students attending Mcast’s art and design classes will be responsible for the 3d architectural projections on the palace’s façade, which will also include a narrative background based on the late president Anton Buttigieg’s poem ‘Il-kebbies tal-fanali’.

Can you have a look at the Times of Malta on line please?. There is a picture of Norman Hamilton presenting his credentials to Her Majesty the Queen. As far as I know protocol suggests that men should bow their head from the neck when greeting the queen. Norman Hamilton seems to be doing actually the opposite and is towering himself over the queen. Does our new British High Commissioner know the difference between greeting guest at his super one TV show “Bla Agenda”and greeting Her Majesty the Queen.

It will be four years of ideological masturbation until those students realise they’ve been had. If Micallef can get rid of his directors, who’s to guarantee the proposals won’t be vetted against his criteria? He’ll kill anything which doesn’t follow his diktats.

Extremes create flat, dead statements, Micallef brazenly Mintoffian and spiteful of anything else.

I sincerely think the PN could start working on an alternative, coordinate with those who’ve been exiled and more, just in case. It will be hilarious watching Micallef’s flippant reaction. Most constructive culturally speaking.

I’m not so sure you cannot create by examining your navel.

My oeuvre “Lint, deconstructed, in a petri dish” has won plaudits at major exhibitions.
