Great! As I said in a previous post, the EU didn’t react earlier simply because the scheme is so surreal that it caught them unaware.

  2. Antoine Vella says:

I hope Joseph Muscat doesn’t expect the PN MEPs to speak in favour of his scheme in order to “side with Malta”.

They will be siding with Malta by speaking out AGAINST the scheme and showing the EU that Malta is not behind Muscat in this.

It’s the only way to salvage what’s left of our reputation and persuade the world that we’re not a nation of sharks. Well, not completely.

The title of the debate says it all.

But the PBS (TVM) website isn’t carrying the news as yet.

It must be that according to Reno Bugeja this has no news value. I agree. In fact, I think it has a lot of entertainment value. Especially if the MEPs keep referring to Malta by name.

I hope NET gives a live transmission of this.

Isn’t it strange that only David Casa and Roberta Metsola have an MEP page?

  5. Stephen Borg Fiteni says:

What can the EU do about our citizenship for sale programme?

Where’s Schultz when you need him?

“Sources in Brussels confirmed to timesofmalta.com that the Socialist Group in the EP also agreed with the holding ‘of such an important debate’ despite the objections of Malta’s Labour MEPs.” (Times of Malta)

I am interested in following the EP conference regarding the sale of Maltese citizenship at its next plenary session, in Strasbourg on 15th January.

Kindly inform me whether the discussion is to be streamed live on internet or transmitted on television.

    Merry Xmas.
