Great stunt there at Australia Hall

MZPN pulled off a terrific (and stylish) stunt this morning when they used hundreds of metres of red fabric to tie up Australia Hall like a parcel and finish it off with a big red bow, and a gift label that says this is a Eur10 million present for the Labour Party from the government.
They also handed out Christmas cards addressed to the Labour Party, with the message ‘a gift to make Christmas special for Labour, from Joseph Muscat’.
Because the Labour Party is very liberal, progressive and democratic, and because it has such a great sense of humour, it immediately sent round a team of labourers to dismantle the whole thing.

Fabulous stunt. Reminds me of the stunts the medical students and others carried out and the wonderful witty posters put up when the Labour government were busy attempting to dismantle the medical course. Fun with a strong message, that’s the way to catch people’s attention.
I’m going to make Christmas cards with this and send them to all my friends ! Absolutely brilliant !
Hats off to MZPN for this stunt.
Love it.
Kudos to European Studies graduates, who had something to the tune of ‘With €650,000 you can’t buy a Masters degree in European Studies’ on their buscade T-shirts.
Also kudos to the nurses with their slogan ‘Morru ghidu l’Dalli Li minghajrna l-isptar ifalli!’ which they put on their bus.
Pure class.
Nice one from the MZPN.
I hope that Labour will keep the big red bow. It will make a nice gift to the Kitten from Malta.
Isn’t it amazing and ironic that the Malta Labour Party – that same party which tormented the previous government about the “roofless theatre” – gave itself for Christmas a “roofless theatre” worth Eur10 million?
Fantastic – No other word for it.
A stream of continuous awesome statements such as this and the fumbling, tottering government may not even last the full term.
That might have been true if they weren’t so shameless.
What a wonderfully effective, humorous and truthful message. Well done.
Brilliant. This is absolutely super.
A job well done :) MZPN
Awesome idea. Perfect. Hats off to whoever came up with it.
A super stunt. Prosit MZPN
The joke is on the PL because they were so offended. Where is their sense of humour? Always sullen, always angry what is wrong with them. They’re so negative.
Vera ta. Imma kemm huma negattivi dawn tal-lejber. Why dey get der nikkers in a bunch kemm huma borink.
Beautiful. What a fantastic idea.
There’s still hope in today’s youngsters. Well done.
You made my day. A ray of light in this gloomy Labour world.
While the MZPN were addressing the media, Prime Minister Joe Muscat was driven in his car past Australia Hall.
He wanted to make ‘his presence’ felt ?
Yesterday Malta’s current foreign minister failed to notice any unrest in Ukraine.
Today he was caught napping again.

Dr Vella expects the OSCE to help Libya build its democratic institutions and foster the respect for human rights and rule of law.
The minister has over- looked a tiny detail . Islamic law has just been voted in by the Libyan Assembly as the source of legislation in Libya. http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20131204/world/libyan-assembly-votes-to-follow-islamic-law.497571
Is he aware that democracy , rule of law and human rights as seen from the Sharia point of view has little in common with the same concepts as viewed through the eyes of a truely democratic , free and secular society?
So normal are things in Kiev that President Yanukovich decided to postpone his trip to Malta because of problems back home.
I might sound blasphemous but it sometimes feels good to be in Opposition.
MASSIVE
A+. Love it.
Absolutely brilliant. Well done MZPN.
Brilliant! Well done MZPN.
Stars. Well done MZPN. This is typical of the innovative thinking we need. Kevin Plumpton: stand up and take a bow.
These images will be worth a fortune in years to come.
The Labour Party aptly unwrapped its gift on 6th December, feast of Sant Klaus.
‘A unique way of doing politics’
This is also the opposition we need. Tongue-in-cheek and guaranteed to go viral.
Well done MZPN.
Absolutely brilliant. A ray of hope in our youngsters at MZPN. Way to go!
Well done MZPN. Second time round with a show of taste, class and NEW IDEAS.
To hell with NEW LABOUR.
Yes we can still learn good lessons from OUR YOUTH not from Malta taghhom lkoll.
Double standards.

It worked,
‘….In a reaction to the MŻPN’s stunt, the Labour Party reiterated its claim that the court case concerning Australia Hall was a vindictive act carried out for partisan reasons by the previous government.
It also insisted that it would have wished to wrap up the PN government’s scandals in ribbons, but could not find enough to go around all of them.
As it turns out, the Labour Party opted not to wait until Christmas to unwrap its ‘gift’: the giant bow and ribbons were removed hours later…..’

Hilarious and well done.
Proactive and not reactive – that’s what the PN needs for the next 4 years and let Labour apologists stew in their juices.
Well done, MZPN.
8,000,000 – deal or no deal? U joseph ghajjat deal, deal, deal. Hassra li Pablo qieghed ma’ Norma fuq TVAM.
Well done MZPN! Show them in their true colours.
Who knows, maybe in the PQ about the cost of the publicity billboards on the budget niceties, we will be told how much it cost the Maltese taxpayer to remove the red fabric from Australia Hall but not the cost of the bill boards.
In being so quick to remove the ribbon, the LP people failed to realise they would be showcasing their promptness in accepting the gift.
Well done MZPN
Well done, MZPN!
Such stunts do capture the imagination and I wish the MZPN continue along this path. They also organised the protest demo the day the sale of passport legislation was being voted on in Parliament, and it was their picture which made it to the international news agencies. Again, well done for both initiatives.
Labour never fails to provide fodder for such satirical stunts.
