If Labour knows what’s good for it, it will slam down the lid hard on that sleazy skunk Tony Debono

Tony Debono as he was until a few years ago, and as most people still picture him – this is the photograph Malta Today continues to use.
Tony Debono is interviewed in The Malta Independent on Sunday, today. The man who was very much involved with the John’s Garage brothers says that Manuel Mallia did not know about the oil kickbacks and so he could not have tried to blackmail George Farrugia.
George Farrugia is the “most corrupt person in this case” and should not have been given a presidential pardon, Debono said.
Will Tony Debono please call it a day and crawl into whatever hole will accommodate his now bolster-like form (he’s barely recognizable in the photograph accompanying the interview)?
He’s been taking extreme measures to suck up to whoever happens to be in power since 1967. I won’t repeat some of the anecdotes, which may be apocryphal. Suffice it to say that in the 1992 general election he is supposed to have used a ‘spy’ camera to take a photograph of his ballot-sheet with the blue boxes ticked, and then used it to prove his loyalty to the victors.
He had, after all, been private secretary to at least three of Mintoff’s ministers.
These are not the only reasons Tony Debono can’t be taken seriously, except as a hissing snake (let’s say that’s a reference to the sibilant way he speaks).
Since denying knowledge of the kickbacks back in the election campaign, Mallia has since changed his mind and said that it’s because of client confidentiality that he said nothing at the time.
Exactly what is Tony Debono aiming for here: his name up in lights in the Hall of Fame of skunks with 1,005 lives?

“And treated as a respectable, decent, ordinary, normal citizen”, you might have added. Maltese journalism – helping scoundrels get away with it since 1964.
As respectable as the snake he is.
And what about Ray Farrugia? Sucking up to today’s party in power as he has always done. And Mallia’s good friend from the days of R.A.C.A.
I think he pretty much fits as the person who leaked the oil scandal story to Salvu Balzan during the election campaign, and indeed already got his iced bun for doing so.
As to why he has since resigned from Water Services Corporation is another story, but Joseph Muscat has already declared that his services will be used elsewhere.
The Malta Independent on Sunday headline is misleading. It should have said ‘Brown Noser’ rather than ‘PN Consultant’.
Tony Debono also peddles himself as a former Chairman of Telemalta: he never was, though he served as General Manager for some years. His cv is riven with half-truths and leaps of imagination.
Each election he probably takes a photo of the first ballot, then deliberately spoils it and asks for a second ballot and ends up with two photos – one for each major party.
A win-win for the scumbag, and idiots who fall for the trick.
Why doesn’t Debono let Mallia speak for himself or is he after some iced bun? As it is they have become cheaper by the dozen.

‘..Minn informazzjoni li għandna jidher li s-sigaretti tgħabbew fuq xarabank u tniżżlu lejn id-Depot tal-Pulizija fil-Furjana fuq ordni diretta tal-Kummissarju tal-Pulizija Peter Paul Zammit.
Min-naħa l-oħra, it-trakk li fih kienu s-sigaretti tal-kuntrabandu ma kienx sekwestrat u dan, allegatament wara intervent ta’ Ministru partikolari tal-Gvern.
Mhux magħruf x’sar mit-trakk u lanqas mis-sigaretti wara li kien ordnat li dawn ikunu trasportati lejn Malta.’
Min jaf jekk dan Debono kienx jiehu ritratt immarkat fuq il-kaxxi blu imbaghad ihassar il-vot, jitlob lill-kummisarji biex ituh wiehed gdid, jimmarka dan ta’ l’ahhar fuq il-kaxxi homor, jiehu ritratt iehor, imbghad jitfa l’vot fil-kaxxa. B’hekk jitla min jitla fil-gvern, dan il-parassit jkollu hobzu fil-kuz.
Now he looks more like an older Claudio Villa with those epicanthic folds to his eyes.
Would love to hear a few anecdotes.
The guy is looking like another one of Labour’s dinosours from the Golden Years. Has he crawled out of the Labour skip? It seems to be getting overcrowded in there, recently.
Isn’t it ironic that in 2010 Mr. Debono (and the Farrugia brothers) sought the services of Dr. Manwel Mallia the lawyer to defend them, and now Mr. Debono is defending the Dr. Manwel Mallia the Minister?
Tony Debono dejjem gawda ghax dejjem mal-korrotti ghamel hbieb.
Min jaf ghalfejn qieghed ideffes denbu u ghal min qieghed johrog onqu f’dan il-kaz ukoll?
Jew aktar minhekk min qieghed igielu?
Qed jipprovaw igidbu bniedem li ghandu mahfra Presidenzjali permezz tal-old boys.
Fejn tista’ tasal aktar.
Mallia ga ghamel xi haga simili fil-kaz ta’ Meinrad Calleja meta Joseph Fenech, il-hafi, kellu mahfra Presidenzjali wkoll biex jinqabad mandant dwar qtil ta’ bniedem innocenti.
Skond George Farrugia, sal-2003 il- commission (tixhim) kienet tinghatha minn PowerPlan u wara kompliet minn Aikon.
Allura dawn ma poggewhomx fl-istampa ta’ kif kienu jsiru l-affarijiet meta bidlu c-chairman u meta qabbdu avukati biex jiddefenduhom kontra huhom?
U Cordina ma jghidilna xejn?
Blackmail seems to happen a lot in Malta. By any chance, it isn’t happening elsewhere in the government, is it?
Some day or another time will catch up with everybody I hear them say. It surely did catch up with Mr.Debono. He resembles a piece of old, misused, worn out and torn piece of canvas.
I bet it stinks too. Must do.
