Manuel Mallia and Zero 88 continue to behave as though they’re in a feudal fiefdom, not a democratic EU member state

Whatever next. Now the Police Minister’s chief of staff has had himself appointed to the Petitions Board, which decides on police and warden tickets which the recipients are contesting.
On the same board: Labour activist and policeman-turned-criminal lawyer Vince Micallef.

Does our Joey know what is happening?
He will soon have people lining up in front of his office “biex tirrangali naqra habba citazzjoni” or he will be taking the police side? Think it all depends on the ticket recipient
Wonder how many envelopes will be slipped under the desk.
‘On the same board: Labour activist and policeman-turned-criminal lawyer Vince Micallef.’
And Silvio Scerri, from a businessman installing floodlighting for events has turned to:
1 Chief of staff for the Minister of Home Affairs.
2.Advisor to the Commissioner of Police.
3. Mediator between criminals and Police (Zambi and Insp. Elton Taliana)
4. Interviewer for Security Services Personnel.
5. Traffic contravention expert as well.
What’s next?
Where did he achieve all this experience and expertise?
I wonder how smart this person is?
It’s Labour. We have it from official sources that previous experience is not required (see yesterday’s posts).
Other countries run unpaid internships; we promote these people to the highest echelons of power.
Qlajt ticket? Jekk int Laburist cempell lil ZERO 88 jew lil Vince Micallef u jigi mahfur.
How cosy. I can bet my last euro cent that no Labour-leaning individual will be paying a single fine over the next five years – they’ll be filing petitions with the Petitions Board instead and making sure their petition is accepted.
Not to mention that I’ve heard of instances where people ‘spoke’ to their lawyer in a bid to have a traffic fine waived. What’s to guarantee that some of the petitions in front of the Petitions Board won’t be filed by Vince Micallef himsef on behalf of his clients?
It will now be fashionable and necessary to speak to the Minister’s aide to have a traffic fine waived. I can just about imagine the queue lining up outside the Ministry.
Spot the copycat.

Mallia will not know which uniform to wear soon – probably as in UK as C-in-C troops or Chief Constable or maybe acting prime minister.
Email address please.
