Yanukovych has postponed his trip to Malta because of major trouble in Kiev, but George Vella saw nothing

Chris CardonaPoor Chris Cardona. There he was, ‘prektissing’ for his ‘bikk dey’ and they went and called it off. Never mind – nothing a bit of Steam won’t cure.

Yanukovych is on his way back from China and on his way to Russia, so let’s be grateful that he couldn’t stop by here after all. The Maltese government is already doing what it can to make out that Malta is scratching on that particular door begging to be let in, without a pit-stop between Russia and China, by the oppressor of Ukraine, making a statement that we are now part of some new axis of evil.

Neither did Anglu Farrugia see anything wrong in the Azerbaijan elections. All is fair and free he announced to the whole world.

That’s a really fine foreign secretary we have.

He is sitting in the midst of a budding, bloody revolution and declares ” Im Westen nichts Neues”.

His perceptive abilities are just breathtaking.

We’re used to it now. It’s a storm in a teacup.

As Simon Busuttil tweeted, this visit should have been a non-starter all along.

As usual, Labour is tone deaf to all but it’s own music. It’s true that this visit must have been planned months ago, but the plug should have been pulled by Malta, not by Yanukovytch himself. It’s a double humiliation for Malta.

You and your big mouth, Daph – now Yanukovych has cancelled.

Maybe you’re missing the point that with Labour’s mentality Ukraine is potentially a huge market for selling the citizenship scheme.

Muscat was not going to bestow the Qliegh Ir-Repubblika on Yanukovych. Instead he has reserved it for Tony Zarb’s son.

Must be those bushy eyebrows obstructing his vision.

I already had my protest banner ready to expose it at the airport area. I will save it for the future.

According to the rumours from official circles in Kiev, actually the Maltese government has informed the Ukraine side that no high Malta official will meet with him, so he have decided to cancel the voyage because it is an embarrassment for him.

But also what is interesting, some people says that Yanukovych tries hard to find place to put his mountain of stolen money and may be this is why he is interested in Malta. As I know, you can buy passport in Malta, so maybe this euro-integration can be good for Yanukovych.
