What would Gerada and MTV say now?
Our Prime Minister won’t stop, nor think.
Yesterday in Fgura he compared the vote in the European Parliament to Malta’s general election last year. What an insult. In the general election, the people of Malta did not vote on the issue of citizenship sale. It wasn’t in the electoral programme and it was never even mentioned during the campaign. There was not even the merest suggestion of anything like that.
The European Parliament’s vote, on the other hand, was completely specific.
Hearing the clip just indicated it is hard to believe that one year after all the glossy talk and rhetoric, the only things we have seen coming from Castille have been distractive or distructive.
Dr Busuttil has spent a long time in Europe, where the mark is made by character definition and long-term stamina with what one excels at.
Facts show that he made and left his mark in Brussels.
The same values and steadfastness are beginning to reap benefits locally too.
Marks of a long-distance runner.
Firmly in support of you, Dr Busuttil.
This whole citizenship charade is nothing but the fruit of the typical Labour mindset that permeates, poisons, and negatively affects all strata of Maltese society – anything you can do I can do better, and I will downplay and undermine your efforts/achievements in the process. Lawrence Gonzi obtained Euro1.12 billion; by hook or by crook Joseph Muscat has to outdo him.
Times of Malta yesterday reported that Dr Muscat said that history had once again called on the Labour Party to transform the country into one the people deserved.
The PN should be highlighting this quote and everything that Labour has done so far in power and asking the people is this the country you deserve.
Very well said.
It is of primordial importance that Busuttil hammers on the fact that he will nullify citizenship obtained through this scheme.
I have noticed that those people commenting on the Times to defend the IIP scheme do not realise that holding a Maltese citizenship also entails holding an EU citizenship.
One in fact commented that there is no such thing as an EU citizenship. He, like others, believe that since the EU is not a country, we aren’t citizens and we are only citizens of Malta.
Of course, he is wrong: http://ec.europa.eu/justice/citizen/. We are EU citizens.
There is an implication that has been omitted (I am not sure whether you did say it): any of these new “Maltese” citizens could actually run on the Labour Party ticket (or any other European Party for that matter) to become an MEP.
For all intents and purposes, the “US press magnate” could become an MEP. Indeed any ex Chinese nationals could become an MEP.
Is this the sort of integration we could be talking of? The assimilation of certain Western countries through a steady influx of select Chinese nationals into Europe to occupy policy making positions? A sort of Trojan horse?
@ Joe Fenech – exactly my thoughts. He needs to keep repeating this with every opportunity.
Yesterday at Fgura the PM thanked the group of European Socialist MEPs for supporting his IIP scheme. At which point the brainwashed audience burst into loud applause. What he didn’t tell them was that the group consisted only of 2 persons. Transparency my foot.
